just take a deep breath (it's happened to just about eveyone on ebay at least once). The next time you're eyeballing a pony you want really bad, use a snipe site. It seems unfair, but that's probably what happened to you, and sometimes it's the only way...

Gypsy- it's a web site that will bid for you at the last possible moment. I wasn't comfortable with the fact that they need to use your id and password. I'm a nervous nellie, so I'm sticking with one snipe site to limit the chances of anything wrong happening. My husband suggested them. He runs a business and needs passward security. He contacted eBay who said they haven't had security problems with most of them- meaning the sites were generally legit and on the up and up. Do a search for snipe and auction and they'll come up. Most have some sort of free trial.

I'm sorry. I hope you do get your grail. I don't like the sound of that snipe site. It's unfair. You deserved that pony because you actually bidded and that other person cheated in my opinion. Totally not fair.

I often wait until the last minute myself, i'll only snipe if I can't be there for something I want badly. Sometimes bidding too early can work against you.

Sorry but sniping is not cheating It's crap when it happens to you, but you can always do it too...it's a pretty common way for people to win auctions. I never use a site to do it for me though (don't you have to pay them to snipe for you??), I just refresh the page constantly and bid in the last few seconds. Even then you might not win though if the other bidder has put a really high maximum bid in.

OK i use a sniper programme alot why because i either dont have time or will forget to bid also my connection can be slow at times.
But its not cheating its not unfair and its within the rules otherwise you wouldnt be able to do it.
After all the idea is the person that prepared to pay the most wins and the seller makes more money and ebay gets more FVF so every ones happy.
Yes it costs to use these snipe sites but not much.
I personally would rather place my max with auction sniper and walk away if i won great if i lose some one was prepared to pay more *shrugs*
Good luck in your future auctions
