pleasantly surprised by the new pets in person? We finally got to see some today at Target and they where not as bad as we thought. There are still some we are definately passing on, but some that Silly thought she wouldn't like and she did, and one I thought she would hate (the new cow) which she really likes. Of coures she was gaga over the new accessoires in the new big sets but that did not surprise me at all. LOL

I'm still gonna complain about having exclusive animals in the same darn sets!!! I was upset also about how crappy the paint jobs were. I really have to look at the animals closely to see the actual flaws tho...but they are there!!! So look closely.
Here's some examples to look out for,

chips in paint
scratched paint
eye fading
crooked paint
dirt marks (I'm sure you can wipe them away but ewww)

If i find more flaws I'll let everyone know!!!

I was very happy when I saw them. I agree that some were much cuter in person than what it looked like in the pictures.

I have thought there were always those types of flaws unfortunately. I know that I will sometimes go through 3 or 4 of the ones I want before i find one that isn't terribly flawed. I just remind myself that they are aimed for kids who are most likely going to be less picky than a collector.

Yes I would have to agree, we have been seeing those flaws since they came out, they do some up more when they rush getting new items out but most of the sets we saw where fairly good.

Still wish they would not go so overbaord with some of the paint jobs though.

We hate the new pets. If this trend continues, I think we have bought our last LPS.

i saw them all in wal-mart this weekend, and they aren't as bad as i thought they were gonna be...i still want the little Willy Wonka mouse the most though....lol

I was pleasantly surprised by how cute a lot of them are. In fact I ended up wanting a lot more of them than I thought I would, which I guess is both good and bad!

I agree about the playsets all being re-released with different pets though, that was a little frustrating to see. Thankfully though none of the ones I have seen in person I have wanted except for the horse set in the Target diorama. That one is pretty cute with the freckles.

I don't know. I'm still not impressed. I want the Polar Bear and the Cow simply because I love Polar Bears and Cows, but the other ones still look too odd to me.
