You are right Diet:/. If there is a contract maybe there is a way around it?

i don't know how they word those contracts, so it's hard to say. the only loophole i can think of would be the same as LSPP - the pony would look the same, minus the words in the symbol. after all, star shimmer didn't have anything in her symbol about the starlight foundation. maybe they can mass-produce rosey posey with just the dolphin/flower symbol and be able to get away with it. plus, for those who are after more rare g3s, the charity ball rosey posey (CBRP, hehe) would still have that subtle difference that people can chase after and blow wads of cash on.

There are two of them on ebay right now and there are two in completed auctions too. She's pretty, but I would never spend that much on a pony. One auction has a buy it now of $999!

Gosh.. I bet that that a store version without "letters" will be realised later... exactly like for Pinkie Pie...

Star Shimmer giant plush? I remember seeing one black and white newspaper picture of her, I thought she was ooak? I really like the idea of making a custom rosey posey, anyone know what pose she's in? wasn't there a website with a pose index....hmm who made that now.

Sapphire Light, when I was 3, they told my family i needed open heart surgery to correct some congenital defects, or I would die. They went as far as getting all the pre-op done, date set, etc., and then thought "whoops! These people are low income uninsured! We won't get paid!" And that's from a nurse (NOT verbatim). So obviously it didn't get done. Fortunately, I outgrew the worst effects from my problem. And to give them credit, I've also been told I would have been the youngest to have had open heart at the time ('71) so that may have had an impact on their decision. Jackson Memorial in Miami handled most of my care, though that wasn't where the operation was going to take place (they had to use adult cardiologists and surgeons).
If they set up a mass market Rosey Posey as a charity item like Star Shimmer was, seems like they could make a lot more money. And the ball ones would still be unique and 'special', like Diet etc. said.

because who's going to pay $175 for a pony they could get at the store for $5? |
The way I think of that, is that they didn't pay $175 for the pony. They paid $175 to go to the charity function, and the ponies were sitting out on the tables as a free gift for attending the ball. And several people have already turned around and sold them on ebay cause they didn't want the pony, or they thought it could bring them in a bit o' money (I don't really blame them... if I didn't collect ponies, I would either try to sell it or give it to a child I know).
I think they should mass-produce her (without the words on the cutie mark if they must) so that people who did not know about the ball, or people who could not afford $175 to attend, can still do their part to help out the Children's Hospital, and have the chance to own the pony. Everybody wins in that case, I think.

Personally, I'd like to see Rosey Posey sold at the charity ball price of $175 by Hasbro with the proceeds going to the children's hospital. That way, she'd still maintain her "elite" status since you couldn't just throw down $5 for her and the buyer would be making a donation to a good cause just as the persons who attended the ball did. Actually, if Rosey Posey was to be sold for that price, the children's hospital would get more money for an individual sale than from the ball attendees, since I'm sure dinner and dancing was included in their ticket price.
*yeah, I'm a little bitter! lol!*

unfortunately, if she was sold for $175, i wouldn't be able to afford her, and neither would a lot of people who may want to help children's and get this special pony at the same time.
obviously, i think making a non-worded version for store sales would be the smartest move, and the most beneficial to everyone involved, but i don't think it will happen. the only SLIVER of hope i have is that she might be offered on the new hasbro DTC site as a site exclusive, to attract more customers. but i'm not holding my breath.
wysteria - rosey posey is in sweet breeze's pose (and appears to be the same body color as well). good luck with the custom, though... i've pmed 2 different people now and heard nothing from either one. it's like saying "rosey posey custom" automatically makes people run into hiding. >.<
