Ok ok, so you all know how much I wanna collect Pullips, now(or at least own one, that is). I mean I've seen all the gorgeous photos of your guys' Pullips, and it made me get my hopes up of soon owning one.

Well, curious as I was, I went to Ebay to check how much Pullips go for. And the Shinku one was $145!!! Enraged And she was one I really wanted. Depressed Prunella is also an expensive one.... Depressed

Are all Pullips this expensive?? Is it cheaper to buy them separate(body, wig, clothes, accessories)?? Is trading ponies for Pullips a fair deal?? Confused

I'm sorry for all the commotion, but I'm such a Pullip newbie, so as you can tell I know next to nothing about them. Confused And so many people on here know a lot about em, so I thought I could come to the friendly Pullip people on here. Hug Thanks!! Smile Help is much appreciated! Thoughtful

Pullips can be expensive, especially compared to ponies. Shinku is a little cheaper on The Valley of the Dolls, she's $138 and on Pullip Style
.

You can also check out Dolly Market and ShopaDollic for deals on used dolls.

If you have your heart set on Shinku then you're best bet is to save up for her. Otherwise there are a great many dolls out there, the great thing about Pullips is that they are fully customizable. You can change their eyes, wigs, and clothes. By the time you're done you'll have a completely different doll you may find you love more than a stock doll.

I'm no doll expert either. But I too have been drooling over Pullips lately. Have you seen the Little Pullips? You might not be able to get the doll you wanted but I think they're quite a bit cheaper than the regular size ones. Might be an option for you.

The little ones (for me anyway) only made me want a big one more. The little ones are more like... IDK, like collector figures. They don't blink and aren't poseable. Their arms and legs move back and forth, but if you're going to spend $30 on a little one, you might as well save up for a big one Wink

I have gotten 2 dolls from Dolly Market... one of them was Pru and I got a GREAT deal on her- in excellent condition for $75. Of course, I spent $25 on an obitsu body for her, another $25 on her wig... so the hobby itself is actually pretty expensive. Thats not counting all the clothes I've bought (or the Barbies I bought for her clothes, lol)

Vertefae gave you some good links to check out!

You could get a pre-owned, nekkid pullip for around $60. Then you can buy barbie clothes or similar.

I tried the I'm just going to buy a cheaper doll. It didn't work. Smile I bought a Dollfie Plus, her head, eyes, wig, eyelashes, after I added it all up I spent close to $60, I could have just bought Pullip. lol
I bought my Prunella from Dolly Market, she was $80 shipped and then her wig was another $25 and her eyechips were $5-6. Pullips are expensive but very worth it.

thanksies Sunny *hugs*

I would say that for someone outside the collectible doll community that Pullips can be seen as generally expensive. In terms of relativity, they are considered to be one of the cheaper Japanese dolls though. I didn't know anything about them (heck, I'm still a huge n00b) until a friend of mine online started collecting them up like mad and it prompted me to look into them further. I remember at the time I thought the prices were ridiculous, but since then I've come around and I think I'll be getting one myself in the near future. I say that a lot, but I've been undecided about the whole process of getting into another toy fad because of space and money, so we'll see. Wink

I would say that if you're indifferent about the stock outfit, then I would look for just the base doll on the secondhand market. The outfits separately can knock about $20+ off the doll itself, depending on the character. If you're only getting her to customize into your own creation, then I would just look for the cheapest loose Pullip and go from there rather than spending top dollar on a doll just for the name, only to change her in the end anyway. (although accessories like clothing, eye chips, wigs, etc will add up)

To be honest, unless the seller is in your country or the doll can't be found elsewhere, I wouldn't bother to buy a Pullip on ebay. Many of the prices, even on some of the newer dolls are slightly higher than the current going-rate on each individual, and many of the sellers are located in Japan or Hong Kong, and shipping can be pricey once that's tacked onto the total.

Prunella and Shiku are $125 each (minus shipping) at Pullip Style:
pullipstyle.com/pullip...hop/pullip

oboro also recently made a post here to feel out potential buyers for her Prunella and Shiku, maybe you could send her a PM?
www.mlparena.com/Forum...92562.html

You may have a difficult time trading ponies for Pullips unless you can find the right person for the trade. I would advise selling some ponies and then just put the money made from those sales towards your Pullip goal. Good luck! Smile

depends on the body ^^
Type 2 bodies have big feet ...type 3 have lil feet and can wear lots of Barbie shoes....
I can snap a comparison pic when I get home
then the obitsu bodies have little piggy feet Laugh

what kind of shoes are you looking into? what size are you needing?

Mainsail -- Prunella is a beauty -- and like everyone says, you can find them nude for less than if you get her new with all her stock (clothes) ( i got mine for $60 nekkid)

Wigs and bodies and stuff can start to add up...i think unless you are in love with the clothes, the best way to go is to get her nude, or to buy her new and sell her stock. but thats just MO
sometimes you can find people who will trade ponies for dolls...but it takes a lot of pony to add up....unless your talking like....Mimic. Laugh

Shinku is more because she is a Rozen Maiden...all the anime collaborations are...comes with being tied to the series Silly

I would check into Pullip Style, and Valley of the Dolls like vertefae suggested ^^

ETA:
obitsu, type 2, type 3

The maker of my doll said that ixtee shoes fit. So now I'm confused. They fit Blythe? Does the shoes fit Pullip? I have found some shoes that might fit Pullip and Blythe. But I wonder if they might fit the 3 cm feet of my Moona. It looks like the type 2 feet is 3 cm? So if the shoes I spotted fit type 1 and 3 the shoes will not fit.

*confused*

Thanks for taking the picture. Happy

Type 3 feets are exactly 2cm, if that helps you figure out what the Type 2's are. Smile

I don't have a Type 2, otherwise I'd measure it for you.
