However-I did name our cat "Lucky" after the boy pony-but....*shrug* I never told Rich that. He just figured he was "lucky enough not be killed" (which his ownere were contemplating...evil cat people.) I just looked around the pony room-and tested out all sorts of names-until I settled on Lucky.

I'm also named Holly, so I guess that's true for me too! But I was named that because I have red hair. (And no, my birthday's not in December...it's in August.)

While kind've cute in theory, I just don't think I could subject my kid to all the teasing that would come with that, I mean... can you imagine?

But I do agree that you could use parts of pony names to make normal names. Like, Autumn, or Penny.

I like Autumn Skye too, my first daughter is called Melody so she could be named after a pony, as it happens that was down to my first husband's like of Captain Scarlett!

Ellie-Rose is my younger daughter, I wanted something original and now there's already two in her school!

Maybe if I had twin girls I could have Autumn Skye and Winter Snow!

I don't think I could ever name a child after a pony unless it was something subtle and not easy to pick up on like Serena. I could never name a kid firefly, glory, sunribbon, or mimic lol...

If I were to have any more kids I would come up with a pony name but since I'm not I'll have to save the names for furture animals lol. I think I would pick Dancing Butterflies for a middle name....I adore the pony and the name just sounds pretty to me:). If it were a boy I'm not sure what I could use ....

probably to keep people from naming their kids horrible things like "placenta negligee" and "chlamydia." being named "fluttershy" or "applejack" or "tinkatinkatoo" wouldn't be any better. who would WANT to submit their kid to that? i can understand using pony names that are also normal people names, like eve, or parts of pony names like skye & jack & autumn & such... but look at it this way. how would YOU feel about having to go to job interviews and introduce yourself as sparkleworks or forsythia or rainbowberry?
