I'm a little confused when it comes to International shipping rates. When I go to the post office I just tell them airmail and my quotes are always off. There are so many options on the USPS website that I'm not sure which price to quote.

Global Express Mailâ„¢ (EMS) 3 - 5 Days $26.60

Global Priority Mail - Flat-rate Envelope (Large) 4 - 6 Days $9.50

Global Priority Mail - Flat-rate Envelope (Small) 4 - 6 Days $5.25

Global Priority Mail - Variable Weight (Single) 4 - 6 Days $10.50

Airmail Letter Post 4 - 7 Days $9.15

Airmail Parcel Post 4 - 10 Days $16.75

Economy (Surface) Letter Post
(Rate for pieces 16 ounces or less) 4 - 6 Weeks $4.10

Economy (Surface) Parcel Post
(Rate for pieces 5 pounds or less) 4 - 6 Weeks $23.00

Which rates would apply to a small box of ponies (about 1 to 3)?

Thats confusing me. I cant help out with those rates, but I can give you something to compare to:

2 ponies shipped to me from the US costs roughly $2 (it was $1.95 if I remember right). This was in a padded envolope.

A few years back, I got a box of ponies from the US. For about $5, I ended up with about 6 ponies.

Im in Canada and im sure its cheaper to ship north of the border than to ship overseas.

Either Global Priority Mail - Variable Weight (Single) 4 - 6 Days $10.50 or Airmail Letter Post 4 - 7 Days $9.15 would apply in your case. It really all depends on whether the buyer wants to pay for Global Priority Mail or not.

If it is an ebay transaction, I would play it safe and use Global Priority Mail. If not, I would just approach the buyer, and ask what they want to pay for.

I usually quote the economy, airmail and global priority. I think you can ship about 4 babies for 1lb with box and packing materials.

If the buyer is paying via paypal, if you want to be protected (in case of the buyer pulling the old "I never got it" trick) you have to ship via either global priority mail or registered airmail (global priority is usually cheaper than registered airmail). Just an FYI.

Oh, and as for the flat rate global priority envelopes, I can usually fit 2 newborns, or one regular sized baby pony or sometimes a small adult pony (like a CP) into the small flat rate envelope, but a larger adult pony (like one in shadys pose or quackers pose for example) wont fit into the small flat rate envelope. Because of the shape of the large flat rate envelope, I've never been successful with fitting ponies in it.
