Just wanted to show everyone what there is to choose from in my area. Seriously my walmart has only had this one and an Amazing Grace in the same condition for months. I only bought this one to use as a custom. It's crazy.

Eugh. I find smashed pony boxes at Walmart all the time. Did it still cost you $5? The reason I ask is because that one looks way worse than the others I've seen.

as a former associate in the walmart toy department i can tell you that we are techincally not allowed to mark down mechandise that is damaged or has damaged packaging, they are supposed to go directly to Claims and the store is credited for them.

youve no idea how many times ive had customers scream at me telling me that they should get it marked down because the package was busted.

it doesnt work that way.

At my Walmart if the packaging is busted, but the product is ok there's no discount. But if the pony was damaged somehow you might get 10% off at the most.

I bought a butterscotch from Walmart that looked like it had been opened, the pony played with (by osme kid with a sticky lollypop) shoved back in teh box and returned.

I bought it for 2.00 from the Walmart Customer Service center. I then used her for a custom.

I've seen many ponies in bad packing at my Walmart, but they don't discount them if the pony is alright.

I didn't really expect it, I was just wondering because it looked so bad. I'm sorry you've had people yell at you about it. That sucks.

For a collector it doesn't look to well, but if you look at it purely from the stores point of few I can't really blame them; they are toys and the most toys are going to be played with, taken out of the box and have the box thrown away. I do understand you feel bad about it, certainly if you want to keep her in her box for display, but since you are going to turn her into a custom I guess you will be fine Smile

The backcard is in horrible shape, looks like someone played baseball this the box. Like I said, I would never have bought it except to bait or let my son have. The worst part of it all is not that the box looks like this but that its the only 2 they've had in months.

in the world we live in today, if they gave a discount for every damaged package that went through the checkout, some people would be in the aisles smashing all their boxes before they checked out.

I do think, though, that walmart could at least take the merchandise off the shelf. if it looked hopelessly mangled. There was a pony at my walmart that had packaging tape wrapped all around it because the box had just fallen completely apart. I think I saw it in clearance a couple months later.
