eek! i must admit, im a damned good sniper *ducks fakies being pelted at Laura*

I ALWAYS place my bid 3 seconds before the end and 90% of the time i win the auction, I only miss out when someone has put in a higher bid then me and then i think "ok, fair doos, they have more money then me" becasue i have tried my hardest and If i dont have the money i dont have the money Poke Tounge

It does suck when an auction gets away from you Hug I know the feeling only too well Sad I would reccomend learning to snipe (LOL! sounds good doesnt it! :P) I always do it by using a stopwatch , that way i get the exact time as when to put my bid in Big Grin Trust me it does work Hug

Sorry about your loss hun Hug but seriously, try your hand at nabbing a lot quickly . . . works wonders! Happy AND you dont get into bidding wars so you may get the auction for a lower price Happy

Hug Good luck finding another cool breeze! Happy

Loads of love from Laura who is probably one of the most hated people on ebay riht about now Poke Tounge LMAO xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

heh....well, the thing is.....I did snipe....i put in a bit in the last 5 seconds, and she put in her bid in the last 2......so we both outbid the 'highbidder'

it's just totally frustrating....and probably why I haven't done anything on ebay that wasn't BIN in a loooonnnnggg time ><

but, once I cooled down, I figured, I'll get her eventually....but, this is like...the third time I've lost her Poke Tounge

sniping is definitely not cheating. I snipe, that is actually the only way I bid. I watch an item until the last 20 seconds, I use a stop timer set at 20 seconds once I enter my bid, when the timer says 2 seconds I hit the confirm bid button (or whatever its called:) If you want a pony, especially if it is popular, you have to snipe. I agree with most everyone else, he/she with the most money wins. You can't say it is unfair just because someone is willing to pay more money for a pony. Even if you don't snipe, you should enter the max amount of money you wish to pay anyway. I have never used a sniping site because with all the breaching of ebay accounts I have never wanted to take the chance. Good luck with cool breeze in the future. It is possible to get her at a good price (I got mine mint from ebay for 20 bucks because of a wrong listing recently).

I'm sorry you didn't win, but don't worry, you'll find another one. Hug

eBay law is pretty simple - who's willing to pay the most wins. And sniping (which is by no means "cheating", althought it can be annoying to those who are outbid, of course!) does not mean winning, either. I have lost auctions on which I bidded the last minute and won auctions on which I had place my bid on day 1, in spite of snipers.

Seriously, the only way to win an auction is being willing to pay more than anyone else. That's all.

Don't stress too much over it, even if it was your Grail. Smile You WILL find another one and possibly for cheaper. That's the pattern that always occurred to me (and I've been collecting over 7 years)

Good luck finding Cool Breeze! Smile
