DOMESTIC MAILING COSTS----- USA

Cost Estimates:

For all shipping going FROM the USA, go to postcalc.usps.gov/
1) select the destination (either country OR zip code if within the US)
2) enter the package type and weight, if you are shipping something more than 1/4" thick or not uniformly thick, pick "package"
3) click calculate postage
4) pick the method you wish to use
5) click Add Services to see which services are availble for that method

If the service you want to add is not shown in the Add Services section, then it is not available for that method!

DOMESTIC SHIPPING SERVICES:

First Class Mail Parcel
This is for any envelope that is not uniformly thick, or a box, less than 108" combined length+width+height, and 13 ounces or less.

With this method you can add:

Insurance From $1.75
Registered Mail From $10.60
Certified Mail $2.80
Delivery Confirmation� $0.80
Signature Confirmation� $2.35
Collect on Delivery From $5.50

**Note: Delivery Confirmation is only $0.18 if you buy your postage label from Paypal**

**Also--Regarding DC, if your envelope is less than 3/4 inch thick, and you have printed your postage with DC included from Paypal, your reciever could be charged the upgrade to Priority!! If you wish to use DC on a First Class Parcel, make sure you have stuffed a bit of extra padding to keep this from happening**

Priority Mail
This method is slightly more speedy and secure than First Class, supposedly, and free shipping materials are available from your post office, marked with the Priority Mail emblem.

With this method you can add:

Delivery Confirmation� $0.80
Return Receipt for Merchandise $3.80
Signature Confirmation� $2.35
Collect on Delivery From $5.50

**Note: Delivery Confirmation is FREE on Priority if you buy your label thru Paypal**

Any package over 13 ounces will have to go either Priority or Parcel Post.

Rates:
Rates vary depending on the distance it's going.
1lb, anywhere in the USA is $4.95
2lbs ranges from $4.95 to $8.70
3lbs is from $5.50 to $11.95

Put in the weight and Package to see the Priority costs.

You get a % discount on Priority if you buy your label either through Click & Ship or Paypal Shipping Labels! Take advantage if you can! Also free pick up is available if you buy your Priority label thru Paypal. This tells the Postal driver to pick up parcels at your house, and they are supposed to be able to take items bigger than 13 ounces although some local POs will not honor this. Call your local PO to be sure.

**Note about Flat Rate Boxes**
Unless you're shipping lead or marble, I doubt you'll want to use the Flat Rate boxes Sad

They are awkward sizes for the most part, and the cost is high for the weight of items you can squeeze in. The only exception to this is if you are shipping all the way across the country and you can manage a better deal than the regular Priority rate for that zone. But this is rare. They are counting on making a profit on people who are too lazy to do the math.

Parcel Post
You'd never want to use this method for the smaller items you are shipping. This only comes in handy when you are mailing a big playset or giant plushie. This is a slower method than the others, and the starting cost is higher, but the increase is in smaller incriments which makes it more affordable on bulky items. This can be up to 70 lbs and no more than 130 inches of length+width+height. 108 to 130 inches needs to use the Oversize rates, regardless of weight.

With this method you can add:
Certificate of Mailing $1.15
Insurance From $1.75
Delivery Confirmation� $0.80
Return Receipt for Merchandise $3.80
Signature Confirmation� $2.35
Collect on Delivery From $5.50

Rates: Varies by weight and distance.
1lb is $4.90 anywhere
2lbs is $4.90 to $8.09
3lbs is $5.45 to $9.92
etc.

You can save up to about $12 using this method for a 10lb box instead of Priority Mail! Not so much of a bargain in the lower weights, but as the weight goes up, so does the price difference.
