#1: mysterious numbers Author: bbassel, Location: Orillia, CanadaPosted: 0 ---- Hello,
I just noticed the other night that my love wishes has a number on her hoof, and was wondering about it. Right now I found a number on my summer shores and ocean dreamer as well? Does anyone know the reason for this?

I'll have to check my ponies.
#3: Re: mysterious numbers Author: Katika, Location: Small Town, MOPosted: 0 ---- Just curious... what numbers are they? My Ocean Dreamer's 65, my Love Wishes is 66 and my Summer Shores is 106. I wonder if it is a way to kind of "register" the ponies... the numbers don't seemed lined up very well. But looking at some of my others... Flippity Flop's a 65, Wishawhirl's 22, Bumblesweet II is 52... wow... I'm gonna have to go through and check my entire collection now!

#4: Re: mysterious numbers Author: girldust, Location: VermontPosted: 0 ---- odd. i've never noticed that before. some of mine have numbers, too, now that i've looked. maybe they number the first 200? i say 200 only because i can't find a number higher than that in my collection.
i've also noticed that the bottoms of their hooves are dirty! they haven't been doing anything but sitting around on shelves, as far as i know. ;O
#5: Re: mysterious numbers Author: starshine, Location: South Boston, VAPosted: 0 ---- Huh! That is intresting. My Love Wishes is 08, Ocean Dreamer is 89 and Summer Shores is 82. I wounder what's up with the numbers and is there any other ponies besides these with the numbers.

#8: Re: mysterious numbers Author: bbassel, Location: Orillia, CanadaPosted: 0 ---- My ponies have completely different numbers than the ones you've named...I thought it was strange...it only seems to be on the newer ponies too...some of my sparkle ponies have it as well...hmmmm!
#9: Re: mysterious numbers Author: sailorlibra, Location: VA, USAPosted: 0 ---- now i'm gonna have to go and check my collection. Perhaps it is a way to number the first few pieces of a collection. Should we start a post and have someone analyze the data given in the post to see if the numbers do have a significance?
I just love stuff like this!

#10: Re: mysterious numbers Author: sailorlibra, Location: VA, USAPosted: 0 ---- I checked 3 of mine and they are:
48 - Meadowbrooke from playset (that I got lose)
75 - UK Starswirl
79 - StarCatcher (that I detinseled myself)
What I am wondering though, if we have the same ponies repeating the same numbers, perhaps they could be like model numbers or something, like they do on beanie babies with Style Numbers.
For meadowbrooke, what I did was take some red toothpaste and very gently applied it to her foot and spread it evenly. I still had to look hard at it, but then you could see the number. Then I rinsed off her foot.
For the Meadowbrooke/Starswirl pose, the number is on the front foot opposite of the magnet
For Starcatcher, it was located on her back foot that is partically flattened for her to stand on.
#11: Re: mysterious numbers Author: bbassel, Location: Orillia, CanadaPosted: 0 ---- The ponies seem to have different numbers..because I was thinking about the model number thing as well.
This is what I have so far
Love Wishes-77
Summer Shores - 23
Ocean Dreamer-70
Baby Penny -59
Baby Butter-54
#12: Re: mysterious numbers Author: Harmony, Location: Crab-town, USA (aka Baltimore, MD)Posted: 0 ---- How weird. I noticed that some of mine also have numbers, while others don't. o.O
My easter trio are 74, 8, and 40, and the valentine pair are 129 and 40.
Starcatcher is 51.

#14: Re: mysterious numbers Author: AutumnBerry, Location: IllinoisPosted: 0 ---- I remember talking about this when G3s first came out... the first bunch of them (Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Sweetberry and so on) should have numbered feet as well, IIRC. I don't think we ever really came up with a solid idea of what it was. I'd almost forgotten they even had numbers...
*scratches head* I'm sure it definitely has something relating to the production line, but I'm not sure... I guess they just numbered the molds so that if they suddenly had a bunch of wonky ponies coming out of the line they could be like "*pick up pony* Ah, mold 23 is dead now."
#15: Re: mysterious numbers Author: Juushika, Location: Oregon, USAPosted: 0 ---- The same ponies don't necessarily have the same numbers, but the numbers don't reach very high, so I'm willing to bet that these are batch numbers. It makes it easier for the company to track down problems that way: "Batch number ___ of these ponies appear to be flawed, they have ___ problem..." etc. Also, if the problem is dangerous (say, the head one batch of babies is likely to fall off, and a child could choke on it), this allows them to do product recalls as well.
