actually I use a curling iron on all my ponies. Just put it on low first to make sure it's okay, and use tons of water/conditioner in the hair. DO NOT heat dry hair, you'll be sorry. XD I usually leave the iron in the hair for, say 3=5 mins per section, until the hair is mostly dry. This also works to de-friz hair, simple pull the strand of hair through the iron over and over till it's smooth. The hai must be thoroughly brushed for this to work. Just don't rest the iron on the pony (espesciallly a painted area) or it *could* melt, tho it only happened once to me when I wasn't paying attention O_o. Even tisel is okay w/this, just test your iron, and don't leave it super long on tinsel. I offer curling/defrizzing/restoring services, if you'd rather me do it.

I love using sponge rollers. Just wet the hair and leave them on overnight, sometimes all day and night if the hair is really wet. they work great and last a long time. Plus you don't have to worry a bout damaging their hair at all if using heat makes you nervous.

Wrap hair around body or leg for loose curl or wave.
Braid for crimping. Or leave braids in.
Experiment with up-dos.
Separate by hair color and style by section.
Curl using curlers or straws or anything round.
Nylon hair styles so easily without heat. Simply style and let dry overnight, then take curlers or whatever out. Many of my ponies still have the curl from way back when (just don't try to brush the curls). Use a bit of wig hairspray if you like. Warm water will help restyle best, but I prefer to not use real heat unless I am treating frizz or already damaged hair. I do think nylon has some heat tolerance though so I think its probably Ok to use a curling iron on a lower setting on wet hair.

I am a very impatient person and I want immediate results, so curling iron it is for me. I also think they stay set and don't uncurl as much as other methods.
