| here is my "studio". I have a big desk in the corner of my living room and I keep all my extra ponies and stuff in the huge closet next to the desk. you can see on the right side there is an extra set of drawers, I keep extra pony hair brushes, bigger crafty things and shipping envelopes in the bottom. I love having all the drawers for all my rit dye, extra hair tinsel, paint, brushes, sealant ect all at arms reach. I usually paint at the cofee table so I keep all my paint on a plate (see photo) so I can move it easily. this was a really great trick, the paint takes up more room than my other supplys, so it is nice to be able to just pick them all up and get them out of the way. my sewing machine is within reach, you can see in the corner next to it is the place I stack my heads while the glue drys after they have re-haired. I have a small garbage bag on the wall on the left. the second pic is my hair on a cork board. I love my studio |
Are those Testor's Enamel paints? If so do you use them on ponies? I bought some and they never dried cos I got enamel and not acrylic.

those are testors paint, they are acrylic! Testors makes the best acrylic paint for pony symbols. it is smooth, drys quickly, and is already the correct consistancy. If you want to know how and where to get them just let me know.
I used the testors enamel on my first custom, she never ever dried, about a year after I made her she fell off her shelf into a pile of dust and was un-fixable, I hate enamel.

I do all my custom work in my bedroom, because A) I get antisocial when I'm working, and B) I have seven cats. Baits are scattered throughout the room, and I do all my painting and rehairing while sitting either at my computer or on my bed. I need to write an extra-special thank-you note to my grandfather one of these days, because for my birthday a few years ago he got me a five foot high CD shelf that I've filled less than halfway, and the remaining space is perfect for my custom supplies. I keep promising myself that I'll photograph it one of these days. All my tools and paints and hair (and a couple of my favorite completed customs) fit in the spaces between the CDs, the shelf is within arm's reach when I'm at my desk, and if I want to put on a little music while I paint I'm all set.

Our apartment is only a little over 600 sq ft and with 5 of us crammed in there I have to make do with the kitchen table for painting and sculpting customs and then the couch for rehairing (since it's pretty mindless work and I like to watch TV while doing it). Supplies go in one of the kitchen cabinets and WIPs and finished customs go up on top of one of our bookcases. perhaps one of these days I'll have a work room of my own for all of my junk

I work at our little kitchen table. It's so cluttered with customizing stuff (not to mention spattered with paint :lookround:) that we haven't actually eaten there in over a year.
Right next to the kitchen table is a windowseat, which has become a shelf for my supplies - a box of hair, a box of beads, a box of paint, etc...
Hopefully my husband doesn't mind that the dining area has become an art center!
To rehair, I usually take the hair and supplies on a cookie sheet and sit in the living room recliner, so I can watch TV.

I have a pony/craft room all to my self I have a nice desk and lots of storage room! Currently my desk needs a little cleaning.
This is from when we first moved into our house My ponies were just freed from boxes onto my desk!
