yes thats right....those much lighter parts just spent 20 minutes in hot black dye....and now theyre almost white again! uhhhhhhh is dylon the devil or.....am i doing something wrong here?? seriously....help?

Dylon has never taken to pony plastic with me - so I always used RIT. Hmm, maybe you have discovered a way to lighten our ponies?!?!

LOL yes, AC's miracle pony lightener, BLACK DYE!!!! :rofl: ive never used dylon before this and now i dont think i will again....off to the store to get some black RIT i guess....this must be why dylon was so much cheaper......

I used Dylon black dye for Aurora Borealis (mind, it was a DG fakie beby) and she went b-l-a-c-k!
Was the peach dyed as well? Did you use salt? Vinegar? Was the dye boiling??

the peach dye was boiling, the black dye was just really hot and i tried with and without salt in the black and it still did this @_@ i just dont understand! lol

Teasle: yea me too LOL this is already attempt number 2 at this customs the first time the dye was too orange...now uhhh this @_@ hmmm and i already poured out the peach dye *facedesk*

Was that pony origianlly white? It looks like it.
I think that maybe the black dye removed the peach paint or dye that was already there.

are you going to keep her as she is... or try to re-dye her legs black again?

HAHA - Nightglider was working on a custom for me and left the pony in a pot of the whole Dylon packet for like 6 hours and it never changed color ><

hmm...weird that it lightened it -- o.O maybe it was stripping the previous dye off @.<

yea i think it was....just stripping the dye....which as far as i know shouldnt be possible?? but ...yea....*looks at pony* yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.....um, i dunno what im goint to do....originally the plan was to paint one a pattern to resemble fisnet (you can kinda see in the pics) on two of the legs and just dye those two black so when i wiped the glue off i would have gradient fishenets! awesome right? well it would have been if dylon hadnt been so RUDE about it lol.....so i dont know...i ended up just standing her in the pot of dye out of desperation bc they dye wasnt taking.....so....hmmm i guess ill just repaint all those stupid diamonds and dye all her legs black....*le sigh*

ETA: i know a lot of ppl here use dylon and it works greats....are there like some secrets to using it or what lol??

I think I remember someone saying that the Dylon available in the US is different than the Dylon available over seas.
I just stick with Rit.

well....i just dunked a bunch more in there and uhhhh nothing happened at all...so yea...it only smote the one i actually needed it to work on!
