I am sooooooo beyond upset. I found a nasty surprise in my Deviant art notes today. They said my Vampire Princess Miyu pony is a copyright violation and they took her down!

I don't understand it. She's fanart, and fanart is the backbone of that site. Does anyone know what might have been the reason?

I know. And I've got up around 20 others using established characters. I don't get it.

I sent them an email but no reply yet.

DA irritates me sometimes, they used to move stuff around in my gallery like putting it in different categories than what i thought it should go in, and moving stuff to scraps all the time o.0 but now i cant even login....and they wont ever try to help me! someone changed my password and even my email and now i cant access my stupid page and ive emailed them at least ten times about it :/

I suspect that it got reported, or complained about. That seems to be how they operate. Stuff that violates copyright only gets removed if somebody pitches a fit.

If I remember correctly, for the most part they only move or delete items that are complained about specifically. So that may be why they left the rest of your ponies be, and only deleted the one. Could also be the 'I'm g od because I can jack with peoples stuff and they can't do anything about it syndrome' too

MacabreDarling is right most of the mods have a god complex. I had a fan art removed due to "sexual" content yet I see full body nudes, and the only things "sexual" about the fan art was bared breast's that the girl was WASHING!

Any ways as for the Miyu pony that sucks I faved it! Stupid people... I would re post it and make sure you include any and ALL copyrights that could be possible.

Like MLP belongs to hasbro, Miyu belongs to .... (not sure who she belongs too lol) and the likes.

Make sure you mention hasbro made the base pony you just re haired her, painter her styled her made her clothes ect...

DeviantArt isn't too pleasant to deal with unfortunately I've stopped using the site... took all of my photographs, and drawings down from there because of the people, and staff over there. I had a photo stolen from my account, traced right over, and posted to someones DA account. The photo had a clear copyright on it, and I never was asked if they could use it, or given credit, and when I complained, it wasn't them that got in trouble, it was ME that was mocked and treated like dirt by the DA staff... posting nasty comments to my account, and to the stolen image. My advice... just don't deal with them. They're more trouble than they're worth.

But without DA many of us artists (myself included) would not have a place that is friendly to post art too without waiting a week for approval!

Mmmhh... this is where I wonder why do they have a category named "Custom dolls" ? Did you have them under that category? If you did, then they will have to put down a LOT of copyright infringement stuff there... from littlest pet shop to even pullips... I think that it's just stupid what they're doing I'm sad that you had that pony down, it's a wonderful girl I say the same that Phynix, make all the statements needed and also specify clearly that they are custom dolls.

Other than that, I believe that those people have a lot of free time to be reporting people for copyright stuff... Then they should not be stating fanart's categories from the begining, don't you think? Most of people there gets famous bcause they draw fanarts...
