Actually it's finished, more or less, but I DO NOT intend on leaving it garbed in that messy tangle of fishnet and chenelle yarn LOL I threw that on it so I wouldn't feel the pressure of having to find it something to wear..
I have no idea which pony I used (not the SHS pony that I orginally started with) but it was one that I detested the way she stood leaning over. I used a doll that I found in a thrift store whose body and head was all mismatched and uber dirty. It was rerooted with mohair (over the course of about six weeks) and sculpted with Apoxie Sculpt.
The Centuar sat on my table for months and months. (This is how it all started LOL Changed a bit...
(He/she actually went with me to the fair; did anyone see him/her?)

I may do more Centuars in the future but most likely not ones customed from MLPs. I prefer Centuars to be a little more mature than a MLP body can really allow (I want to use barbies for my next ones anyways and they don't 'Fit' MLPs :wow:)
I may sell this one in the future. Having given it those aqua eyes might have made parting w/it harder, tho

Thanks, Pop! The mohair was Very difficult to work At First! I broke myself in rather gently and haired about 2/3rds this one and then rerooted this baby (who somehow didn't get her own thread here in the Customs section

By the time I was rerooting the final 1/3rd of the Centuars head I had gotten pretty adapt to the mohair and it wasn't any more difficult than working with nylon, really. My only advice would be to remove the down if you're cutting it straight from the leather. Much easier to work with that way.

Ah cool! The mohair looks really awesome, white on a black pony.

I've found in all the centaurs I've done, G2 ponies work well for the base as they're slender but not skeletal like the SHS. Their little neck holes are quite tiny though, so they might not work so well with doll bodies.
