If they weren't convinced of that before my shenanigans the other night, that is.

Wal-Mart (where I work) had a big cardboard display up for LPS. I caught the toy associate taking it down, so I asked what was going to be done with it, and he said it would be thrown out. I casually asked if it would be okay to take home with me. No problem with him.

So, yeah, at the end of my shift I hauled the whole thing out to my car. It was taking apart and the pieces flattened, but it still took three cartloads to get it out there. I have a little Neon, and the trunk was half full as it was, so needless to say it was a chore. I would say the whole thing, when assembled, is 5 foot tall by 10 foot long.

All my fellow associates looked at me like I was crazy and asked what I was doing... I explained, but they still didn't understand. What a dull bunch of people. ^.^

You must work with a bunch of dorks. lol

My husband and I used to work at Wal-Mart together, and we used to take cool displays when they were finished with them all the time. No one even batted an eyelash. 'Course we worked with a whole stew of toy-fiends. LOL Those were the days. Thank god they're over.

At least that is what I am told daily. I had a few people over today to look at my kittens and they took one look around my office and went OMG LOOK AT ALL THE PONIES!

OMG! I wanted the purple ferret from the Walmart display sooooooooooooo bad!! It took all I had to keep myself from getting up on the racks and snatch it! So your totally not nuts - hehe, and if you would want to sell or trade the ferret to me, I sooo wouldn;t mind

Been there done that, but at TRU, one of the few things I miss from there.

Ooh, the one from the display they have hanging about the aisle? I still have my eye on that one... I really really want to get it! That one is put up and taken down by the Hasbro vendor, so whenever I'm at work I'm keeping an eagle eye out for her... and hoping and praying I'm there when she comes to take it down! Then I'll beg and plead with her to let me have it.

I'll see what I can do about some pictures. Right now it's kind of in pieces, but I"m going to work with it tomorrow.

Collecting ponies and LPS is what keeps us young. Not collecting is what makes people old fast.
