I think it really looks like Ponyville, but overall I'm not bothered by it. It's kinda cute and interesting in my opinion. n_n

Oh..i don't like them at all They're TOO simplified and "childished" for my liking. They look like from simple picture books for very little children who can't adore complicated drawings.

That poster has got deformed ponies on it! Seriously, the heads look smaller than the feet, and the feet look pretty dang big.
I'm not into Ponyville at all, really not. Ponies are, to me anyway, something that you actually pick up and play with. Hair brushing and dressing, while no longer a big deal to me - like they were when I was playing with my ponies, instead of just looking at them - are the sorts of things that you just cannot do with Ponyville. I hate the proportions of the PV ponies, they look all bloated and weird to me, not 'cute', as I suppose is the intention.

i was told the reason behind redesigning the ponies is that they wanted each pony to have their own personality, thus the different hairstyles and etc. the special is being produced by sd entertainment (they also produced the previous releases). here is a link to their page with development art:

Now, I like that!

I really like the new art style. Its different and makes them look so much better.

I too much prefer the art by that latest artist it fits more so to what i think they are trying to get across with the ponies a child like theme
