Are Pullips fragile?
I would love to own one, but I just wanted to know how careful I'd have to be with her.

Sort of.
As long as you are gentle with the doll and not careless - you should be fine.
the only thing that is really fragile about the doll is her body, and even more specific - her limbs. As long as you are extra gentle with those parts, you should be fine.
Or, to solve this problem all together. You can rebody your pullip on a 26cm obitsu body (sold at junkspot.com or ebay and other places)
Obitsu's are not only more robust, they're also a lot more poseable than the pullip bodies.
On an ending note. I'm not horribly gentle with my pullips at times... They fall out my bed, shelf, and desk all the time. and all they get is the occasional scratch to their faces. That is more of a shiny mark than a scratch if anything.
But they can chip, crack, etc. And it's still important to be careful with them!

I find the face is the most fragile with me. The bodies can be replaced, but if you scratch the face there is a lot of work to try and make that right again.

I'm a pretty gentle person, but accidents do happen lol.
Thanks for the info
Are Obitsu bodies expensive? Since the pullip herself will cost me a lot on her own lol.

They are around $20 - $25 each, depending on what type you buy, and if you get them with or without magnets.
I managed to get a few on sale this week for $14, but without shipping.

I recently bought a wig for one of my Pullips from Cancan-jseries and couldn't be happier with the quality. Pullips will fit into a 8-9" doll wig.

Thanks!
Another question- what are nice sites to browse/buy pullip clothes? And do pullips for example fit in blythe clothes or barbie/bratz clothes?
Raia has been begging me for new clothes! @@'

Could you explain this words/short cuts and answer my questions for me please?
Obitsu? A new body, right? Why do you chance it sometimes? Which material is it? Is "Obitsu" the company?
BJD? I only know, that this is somethign with eyes ...
Face-Up? It's a "permanent" make up for Dolls, I think. Which colours do you use? Airbrush also, maybe for the blush? And how can you remove it and make a new one?
Eyelashes? How can you fix them? Only with clue?
Wigs? Which material is it? Different ones?
I think I will add some more ^^''
Thanks and Hugs

Obitsu is a type of body. And yes, Obitsu is also the company. Here is a statement from the company:
| Quote:: |
| Obitsu Plastic Manufacturing Co., Ltd has been one of the leading companies in the plastic toy industry in Japan for the last forty years. Like Takara and Bandai, Obitsu has a long history and tradition of producing plastic toys, and produces all products in Tokyo, from planning to production, which results in a product that is 100% made in Japan. Obitsu first released high quality movable action figures and custom dolls in May, 2002. Since then, Obitsu body has been praised for it's superior quality. |
Many Pullip collectors switch to these bodies because they are a lot more realistic looking, are more poseable, and generally just better quality than the stock Pullip bodies.
This is where I order my obitsu bodies for my pullips. The Junky Spot
They have the best prices and fastest shipping. For Pullips, you'll want a 27cm sized Obitsu body.
BJD simply means Ball Jointed Doll. LOTS of dolls fall under this category. It's a pretty general term used to describe dolls that are poseable (i.e., moveable arms, legs, etc.).
Face-up is a term used to describe the dolls makeup. Her eyeshadow, blush, lip color, etc., is included in this.
Eyelashes - well, I'm not sure what you mean by your question. Pullips have two sets of eyelashes, the "real" feeling lashes that are connected to their eyelids, and also the painted lashes on their face plates. You can add more "real" lashes by taking the head apart and gluing new ones on the underside of the eyelid (you can buy human sized false lashes at pretty much any cosmetics section in a store). You can also repaint eyelashes on the face plate, but that requires a bit more work and skill. You can find tutorials for both things here: www.requiemart.com/pullip/open.html
Wigs - There are all types of places and companies you can get doll wigs. Materials also vary. I have wigs made from Mohair, and also synthetic fibers that feel similar to MLP hair, but less waxy. Probably the most popular brands are Can-Can and Monique Gold.
Here are a few links for you to browse through:
Facets by Marcia - Monique Wigs
Can-Can J Series
Cotin Doll Wigs
I hope that helps you, vanilla!
