I'd never heard of these, but after reading through a few things they've grown on me and I'm pretty sure that I'm going to get a couple. I'd heard of and have been wanting to get a full size Super Dolfie BJD (the ones that are 60 to 70cm) for some time now, but I think Pullips seem like a really nice inbetween step so I can satisfy my want for one and not have to spend tons of money yet
Anyway, I've read through this whole thread and from what I understand you can change the hair and eyes just like any other BJD? But do you have to remove a wig to open up the head. For example I have one in mind where I'd like to keep the wig it has on, but I want to change the eyes. Is this possible?
Also, what places would sell the eyes? I've looked on ebay but they seem to just have normal colours. I was wondering if there are any places which might have some more unusual eye colours available.
At first I was thinking of just getting a Pullip head and an Obitsu body so I didn't have to pay extra for the Pullip body. However I couldn't find any Pullip heads when I looked on ebay. Is it just not common for them to be sold on their own?
And lastly, Knibitz you mentioned that you made a hybrid with the original neck/chest and the rest an Obitsu body. You wouldn't happen to know or any clear instructions to do that? And wouldn't there be a possibility of the melt affecting the shoulders?
Okay, that's all I can think of ^^;
Edit: Oh! Are there any types of paints that can't/shouldn't be used on Pullips? What do people generally use for doing a faceup on one?

You read the whole thread? That is amazing
Yes, you have to take off the wig to open the head and change the eyes. But you can easily put it back so that's no problem
CoolCat by the way has amazing eye chips in great colours, they are also selling on ebay
And Pullips come with stock bodies, they come boxed like ponies do. You can't choose which parts you want and which not. You will have to get her with the body and by an extra obitsu.
Hope that helped

Hi! ^^
Ahm, I tried reading through this whole thread, but I didn't spot my question o:
And this is a pretttttyy newbie question: Are Pullips made of plastic or resin? xD;; I'm a resin-person and have only seen pullips in pics with resin BJDs xD;
Though this forum as made Pullips rather attractice and am considering getting one >w<;;
Also I'm wondering if, ahm, are some pullips hair rooted because I heard the term "re-wigged" or something like that (totally brain fart and could NOT remember hte term D8!), but am kind of confused as to what it means xD;;

Pullips are plastic
and most pullips are wigged with a wefted wig.
but some of the earlier ones are rooted, but they have a removable scalp piece that is the rooted section, so you can easily take the rooting out get rewig if you wanted to. You would need the scalp piece for the new wig to lay properly, but if you were ok with destroying the old hair you can just cut all of it off and dehair it just like you would a pony.
I imagine you could even reroot it just like a pony as well, except I've never heard of anyone doing that.

That sounds right on to me Suppi. It should be the face plate, back plate and scalp (unless it's a two piece head)

| KK how much should one with an eye mech and stuff cost? Or can you pick those up on the cheap separately? |
the eyemech is going to cost you anywhere from 10$ - 30$
it all depends on who's selling it and what their aim is :B
they're also don't show up too often.
You'd really be better off buying the completely assembled head than piece it together.

| Is the eye mech really needed though or can you just pop in glass or acrylic eyes? :O |
you can just put in glass or acrylics. I think they take like... 26's or something, so they're harder to find on the second hand market if that's the way you like to shop XD
and to some people they look bad because A) they dont have eye-wells like BJDs do so they don't sit perfect and B) the doesn't have that realistic of an appearance to begin with, so putting in eyes that have a realistic feel doesn't match well.
Others really like it though.
Another thing you'll have to consider is that in every doll but the byul and the dal, the eyelids are separate and held on by springs connected to the eyemech, so you will have to make sure you get them if you buy a doll without the eyemech, and then you will have to figure out a way to attach them.

Hiya
Would a dal stock wig fit Pullip or not worth even trying?
Thanks!

As far as I know the heads of Dals are smaller than Pullip heads. But after some stretching the stock wigs might fit. I would try it for you but I don't own any Dals...
