I’m excited to announce the date and location of this year’s seventh annual My Little Pony Fair and Convention!

The 2010 MLP Fair will take place July 17th and 18th at the Galt House Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky.

Home of the Kentucky Derby, Louisville offers a central location for those driving and a major airport. Driving times from several major cities can be found here.

The Galt House Hotel is located in the heart of downtown Louisville on the riverfront within walking distance to multiple restaurants, museums, and nightlife entertainment including Fourth Street Live, Waterfront Park, and Slugger Field. The Galt House offers a direct shuttle to and from the Louisville International Airport. The convention will take place in the Galt House’s newly renovated ballroom with over 13,000 square ft. of space. The Fair has a discounted room block reserved for MLP Fair and Convention guests at the hotel.

Details about reserving rooms in the block added 1/26:
The MLPFair has a discounted room block available for the Galt House. The prices are as follows:
$125.00 for a RIVUE Tower Deluxe Guestroom or $145.00 for a suite in the SUITE Tower
The Galt house offers Complimentary Wi-Fi in all guest rooms and a shuttle to and from the airport. They said that up to four guests can share Deluxe Guestrooms so it would be a good solution for those wanting roomies for the Fair.
I've stayed at the Galt House before and it is really nice and close to everything downtown.
To book your room call 800-The-Galt and tell them you want the My Little Pony Fair Room Block Rate.
They should be ready to process requests for our room block. Let me know if you have any problems with getting either rate and I'll contact them.

*Dies* That's like an hour from me - I grew up in Louisville! Ahhhhhhh!!!!!! *Does a jig* AJ is DEFINITELY going to the Fair this year! Oh yeah, oh yeah! I am soooo stoked!

Wha?! I thought it was gonna be Vegas for like 3 more years?

This sounds much better though 'cause I can totally drive to it (6.5 hours)!

I think people were so negative about Las Vegas last year that the staff were pretty disappointed.

Not to be negative but... did the Fair staff wrap up and make amends with everyone who ordered MLP Fair Ponies from last year who didn't get them?

There are a lot of things that need to be accounted for and questions that need to be answered.

I hope they are.

I love ya Summer (truly I do!) so this isn't personal but I am surprised the whole thing is being announced as if nothing has gone wrong with the last fair and everything is hunky dory.

Why was this venue/location chosen?
Is Hasbro involved?
Are the previous fair coordinators involved in this fair?
Have all the problems been resolved from the last two years fairs (people getting their items and so forth)?

There are many more questions as I am sure your inbox can attest to.

I'm really disappointed.

I wasn't planning on going back to a Vegas Fair, so I'm happy to hear it's coming to a city so near me It's definitely a surprise to all of us hearing about this for the first time but I'm looking forward to a change of pace. Last year's Fair was fun but I wasn't going to spend the money to repeat the same trip, same Fair.

Can't wait to hear more about it!!

I didn't think I could make it this year (because going to Vegas last year was so expensive), but Louisville is only an hour and a half drive for me!
