Posted: 0 Post subject: UK shipping quoted as 14.95 GBP for one pony? Can anyone help |
|
Hi all,
Not sure if this is the right forum but hoping someone can help me.
I am looking at a pony from a UK seller and they quoted me a shipping price of £14.94 to ship to me her in the US.
I don't recall one pony ever being this high. What is the typical price for one pony shipping? Is there a shipping option maybe the seller isn't looking at that is cheaper? He just mentions Royal Air.
If he won't ship any cheaper, is there someone in the UK that would consider having the pony shipped to them, then to me?
Not sure how to handle this as I know the price is too high.
Thanks guys!

I don't send insurance or anything, and i charge a flat rate to anyone in the world of 2.00 GBP for a single pony. Maybe they will only send insured? I have never looked at other options.
I don't mind forwarding a parcel. If thats the best option open to you.

WOW, is that for the Brazilla pony or what?
I've paid $2.50-$3.00 GBP for one pony to be shipped to Canada from the UK....I've seen auctions with quotes even a tad cheaper than that~ sometimes online estimates are off and I always ask for a quote to be sure.....I'm sorry, there's no way one pony costs that much to ship unless he's personally delivering it! LOL!
I hope all this works out for you...in a much cheaper way!

If the pony isn't a heavy one, IE under 100g, it should cost exactly £1.68 in a bubble envelope. And I spose, about 50p for an envelope.
I'd forward something for you - actually, for anyone who wants something forwarded!

I knew he was way overcharging but the recent packages I got from the UK were not similar enough in size to know by how much.
Angelberries~I emailed him and asked him politely to double check the price in case of an error. If he emails me back with a price still unreasonable I will gladly take you up on your offer to have her shipped to you, then me
Thanks so much for the quick help/responses guys!

As a maximum it would be around £6 GBP including airsure insurance for a MIB pony, a bubble mailer would be less - Airsure is about £3.50 per parcel on top of the shipping. Your quote is definitely over the odds.

Actually it is International Signed For that is £3.70 (It just went up) Airsure is £4.50 on top of the cost of the pony (max £2 in a box) so £6.50 should be the highest.
Unless they are packing it in lead LOL!!!

Wow, my UK parcels are usually 2 - 4 GBP, and I'm in New Zealand. I hope you get a better rate sending to your buddy, that price would kill me!

This was sent by the seller today...
Dear lil-alley-cat,
The estimated postal weight is 500g.
The quoted US Airmail price for us to post airmail was £14.94 from the Royal Mail website.
We cannot post for less than the quoted cost.
??? A pair of jeans weighs 423g according to the Royal Mail site. Why is the seller being so difficult?
