I was trying to search for one of the threads that I know exist, but I was having difficulty. It's been a while though. What are the ponies that were shown in alternate poses/styles in pamphets, but never made it into production? Pictures of those pamphets would be great, too...since I never seem to remember to save them. I know of...
-CP Satin N Lace
-Walking Pose Birthday Pony (with yellow in the symbols)
-Baby Brother pose (Clipper pose) birthday ponies
-unicorn Baby Truly
-Coral hair Brazil Sitting Bowtie
...who else? Who has pics of the pamphlets?

I have pics saved somewhere of the bbe ponies brochure. I think it has one or two on it that were never made.

I think I remember seeing a pamphlet with a NBBE Baby Sundance in it. Ah that would have been so lovely!
Ooh, I'd love to see the Birthday pony in the walking pose! I think she's so neat but she's in one of my least favorite poses. :/ And baby brother birthday ponies?! Must see these pics!

I've got a few scans of my pamphlets.
Birthday baby boys:
CP Satin N Lace:
The link to the 1986 Toy Fair catalog doesn't work anymore, but I saved the pictures while they were still up. I'm not sure who to credit them to though. Here's the one with unicorn Baby Truly (& NBBE Baby Shady):

Huh. There has to be at least a few of the prototypes floating around out there somewhere. I wonder whatever happened to them? Maybe Hasbro officials gave them to their children, and they're festering in a box somewhere.

I'd love to see prototypes of ponies that are considered unknown with different symbols and names. I wonder if hasbro will show us those prototypes at pony fair this year?

I know that when I was at the Fair a few years ago in RI one of the speakers was Kirk Hindman - he had the original sculpted Megan -- lost in a drawer for 20 years!
He was telling lots of storys - Like how he originally sculpted the Sitting Pose with the hind legs more splayed away from the body - he had to keep adjusting the pose because of the way the toys were thrown out of the mold.
I remember him saying that the original concept for the Sea Ponies were for them to have Poseable tails - And there was a prototype made of one like that.
