Silver healer - you've actually seen rude comments on art here at the arena? One of my friends here said she's experienced some put downs in regards to her art, but I've never actually seen any myself. In my experience the pepped up super happy thumbs up comments vs. "eh, your art isn't that great" comments are about a million to one here.

CC is great. I have a tendency to draw and draw and have a completely finished piece, only to realise later I forgot a small, yet crucial detail (like coloring in an ear or something) So I do appreciate when people point things like that out to me. Compliments are always great, everyone needs a little boost to their ego, and it lets you know at least someone thinks you're doing something right. lol.
But I also like random art hints, like, "Say, did you know that if you drew that at 200dpi, and then shrank it down, the lines would look cleaner."
Because man, that's something I never would have come up with on my own.
The only thing I really hate with a firey passion is any comments starting with, "Well, I don't like your style, but..." They could be a scathing criticism, or a glowing review, but if they don't like my style, why are they looking at my art, or bothering to comment? It's like saying "You're ugly, but I like/dislike your shirt." I mean, what? You can't basically insult someone as the opening to a conversation. Or any useless comment, which is commenting on something I said in my description of the drawing, and is in no way related to the drawing itself.- ie -"STFU! that r0xx0rz n u r teh sux". (This is 99.9% deviantart applicable)

Oh god no. Please don't ever refer yourself to him. He's such a damn sellout. If you do your own art, then you're already better than him. ^_~

Actually I have...more so in the Gallery than in the actual threads...but it's not very common. It's one or two people in particular but hey Like I said, I highly applaud CC as long as it's not derogatory like those comments I have seen before ^_^

Yes CC.
I be in too, but do not be to hard.
One of my problems is that my hand is too shacky 'cause of my heart disease and as result I can't draw very stray, and the other one is the shipping problem
I can't ask someone to pay $50 for shipping; that's why I only can sent the finished drawig to the custumer E-mail.

I adore getting concrit; I can't learn anything from "That's great!" and I desperately love to learn and improve.

I post for anything. Compliments, critiques, just a note saying that it's cute, or it's funny, or something like that. I doubt my abilities as both an artist, and an author, and I like to have people comment my work, because it gives my self esteem a boost.
