Hi, that s sounds bad!! No, just have a funny story with this ebayer, he doesn't want to send ponies to me in France unless I pay an extraordinary shipping price!! I am use to order ponies from USA and that was the first time I was asked so much for on single pony!!

Most sellers who are shipping internationally require an insured package with tracking/proof of delivery for Paypal & Ebay to have any kind of recourse should things go wrong. Don't assume your seller is trying to rip you off because they quoted you high shipping.

No sorry, it was even not for an insured package with tracking/ hoof of delivery!!! That's why I wrote it!! Of course it is more expensive with that!! But no, the price was for "normal international shipping"!!! :o((

USPS rates have gone way up for international packages. If you ask the seller to give you the dimensions and weight, you can look up the price on USPS.com. Sometimes the price differs from post office location, though. Sorry to hear that the shipping was very expensive for you, though!

I was actively looking for those fairy tail birds so I messaged her asking about being smoke free and she mentioned a small hole/tear in the fan of the fantail so I asked to be sent a pic.

This was my message Dear psychocat61,

"Any smokey smell to the birds. Also I would like to see a pic of the fantail opened to see how bad the hole/discoloration is. My direct email to send me a pic is meribethadams @ earthlink.net

Notice not even a response about the picture to show the fan discoloration.
Even though that bird is so hard to find I decided that I wouldn't be getting those birds. If you noticed in her pic on line she also had the fan closed so you could see the marks discoloration mentioned on the fan which was deliberate. I think at least neutral feedback should be left with a note the seller did not disclose that the birds or ponies reeked of smoke.

I got one bird with a smokey smell this is what I did (I found this online) I coated the bird in febreeze waited an hour the coated it again and let try overnight. Then washed the bird off and set outside for two weeks. I have tried many methods like leaving items in kitty litter and also baking soda running them through the dishwasher but I noticed any times they get wet the smell comes back.


Not only does she not care..she gets offended. Good luck with the smokey birds so sorry you had to go through this. It is so bad opened an anticipated package and getting that tell tale whiff of smoke! ARGHH!

"Used," to me, does not imply smoke smell. I have "used" items in my own house. They do not reek of smoke. "Used" means "has been used before you bought it." "Smoke smell" means it smells of smoke.

I had a pony like this. My Sky Dancer. She was brown and stinky. I put her in the sun in peroxide for two days. Took her inside. She is yellow now and does not smell like smoke at all anymore. She has been inside for 24 hours and still smells wonderful and clean.

Eeesh! Of course "Used" does not imply smoke smell. That is something completely different. She doesnt sound like a very good or honest seller at all ...
I reckon she knows full well her items stink of smoke, but she wants to get as much money as possible /not lose potential buyers, by listing that it is a smoking household. It will land her in trouble eventually if this is the case

I was watching a Kenner Shimmer auction from this seller. Between the smoke smell and the attitude, I think I'll have to pass. Thanks for the info!
