I am immensely frustrated with a transaction that's "pending" with a member here! I sent her payment for three ponies Sept. 28. She said that she couldn't get to the post office to send them until Oct. 4th. I said no problem.
So I wait..and wait...then I PM her on Oct 8th and ask if she ever sent my ponies...She then says "Oh, I have no way to get to the post office. Which ponies were yours again?"
WHAT?? First of all, why even sell things online if you can't get to the post office on your own!? Second of all, she doesn't even remember what I bought? I am getting very, very frustrated and EXTREMELY suspicious.
I'm afraid I've been scammed.
This particular seller also does not have any feedback on the arena, at least, not that I saw. :/
How long should I wait? Do you have recommendations of what I should do? Is this too soon to worry about it?

Did she gave you any time frame on when she could get to the post office? I suppose she could have unexpected real life-issues, but I would also get annnoyed.
I usually expect shipping within a week after payment if the seller don't state that s/he has longer shipping time. Did you use paypal when you payed? If so, you could always open a dispute and get your money back if you don't recieve the ponies. I think you have 30 or 45 days to do that, not sure which at the moment.
I would wait a little longer, send one or two reminders, and check out that the paypal date for disputes don't expire

Leave honest feedback- PLEASE. Even if things end well- I would mention the disorganization. Stuff comes up for people, which I am cool with so long as they tell me and I'm not the one hunting them down. But I've run into a couple chronically disorganized sellers- some are very new to this and don't quite understand how things should flow normally. Or how important it is to keep items, names and payments straight. (and how easy it is to get everything muddled up) It is really nice to know ahead of time what kind of seller you are dealing with.
PM them again with what you bought, your payment date (and e-mail you sent payment with), shipping address and remind them that they did promise to mail on the 4th. If it were me and I really wanted these I'd hammer out a new deadline for shipping, with the expectation that I am contacted as soon as they are sent. if they can't get to an office to even ship these there is no reason you shouldn't get a refund. If it bothers you that much though and you have an uneasy feeling, perhaps just request the refund now and move on. I don't think anyone would fault you for that. Having stuff sit in limbo is frustrating.

I did as Fantastic Firefly suggested and PMed her with my payment date, the ponies I bought, and my shipping address...here's hoping I hear back soon... :/
Her name is daughterofaries28 for those of you who wanted to know. She joined December 2010, but doesn't have a lot of posts or any feedback yet.
Has anyone else dealt with her? I'm so nervous about this...

I am having the same problem with daughterofaries28. I paid for some MLP pamphlets on September 29th and didn't hear back from her for two weeks. At that time I sent her a message asking about the pamphlets. She replied "I had to replace my printer and I don't have a way to the post office during bussiness hours." and that the pamphlets would be in the mail Monday or Tuesday. That was a week ago and I still haven't seen them. I mean, the pamphlets could just be mailed in a regular envelope with a couple stamps on it and dropped in the mail box.
I just opened a Paypal dispute. I don't want to deal with this crap. I should have gone with my gut which told me it was too good to be true. In those cases it usually is.

Manatee, that's the same thing she told me. She should not be selling things online if she can't make it to the post office, period.
I honestly doubt that she is having RL problems, however. I strongly feel that she's a scammer.
I'm going to open a dispute now, too. I feel I've waited long enough for some sort of response or effort on her part. I have heard nothing from her, still. It's nearly been a month since I paid her. Too good to be true is right. :/
EDIT: I just opened a dispute with Paypal. I'm so upset about this.
I also left her negative feedback here on the arena.

Do any of the mods reading this thread know whether it's acceptable to leave Arena feedback about a potential , uncompleted sale that has to be canceled for reasons like this? lol Just last night, I actually pm'd a mod here and one on the TP with a quite lengthy and in-depth email with my concerns about the etiquette and ethics of both buyers and sellers, and questions as to whether they think anything might be done to reduce the resulting problems.
Hmm, I thought feedback could only be left about completed transactions. There are also quite a high number of buyers, lately, who will agree to a sale, commit to pay by a specific date, and then don't reply when I email a couple days after that date to ask if they still want the item or not. Or they'll reply even a number of weeks later, just saying something came up and they're sorry for not letting me know sooner. And, as pointed out in this thead, similar issues happen to people who are buying.
I know legitimate real-life issues do happen, sometimes, and that's fine. But it's soooo many people, and I think many just don't take the sale seriously or consider that I've had an item on hold that another buyer may have purchased. And, on the Arena, we can see if someone read our private messages or not, and when I see that someone read a reminder pm but doesn't ever reply, it's frustrating. I'm very understanding about the need for more time to pay or canceling and maybe selling to them another time, but when so many people just don't take into account the seller's position, it makes me question making offers to new members, who I've always loved to sell to and help get their collection started, because a scenario like the one I described is so much more common.
