I check the "2010-11 Trader Watchlist" almost religiously when buying on ebay. But last night I had this incredible need to buy a So Soft pony.
So, yeah I ended up putting in an offer on a pony from a bad booger.

Well, personally, I would probably bite the bullet and pay... curse me and my integrity! You can always file with Paypal if something goes wrong.

However, if you don't pay, she will most likely open up a case against you and you'll get a strike on your account. If this is your first strike, you should still be OK to buy and sell on eBay. But if you've had other strikes, I don't know if it would be a good idea to risk getting your account closed. I'm not sure how many "freebies" you get before eBay takes action against you.

The good news is, since you're a buyer she can't leave you negative feedback if you don't pay.

has she responded to your offer? personally i would hope she doesnt accept the offer...the problem if you dont pay is you could get a strike...as i think ebay frowns very heavily on non paying bidders...

if you do win the offer and you do pay i would advise to carefully watch your paypal claim time...and if a reasonably amount of time has passed and still no pony then put a claim in...if it does then you can withdraw the claim and no harm done

i had a really horrible run in with this seller in the past....bought a pony, pony never arrived, seller claimed definitely sent, i was reaaaaaaaly stupid and let the paypal filing deadline pass cause at the time i didnt know who she was and assumed by her nice messages it was probably just a postage issue, guess what no pony? and one week after paypal filing deadline passed....the same pony [the exact same pony!!!] popped up in her sales thread again...i dont normally "hate" on anyone but this seller is pretty untrustworthy

oh....if i am completely honest with you i would pay for the pony....i know it sounds silly but everything might go right for you...the pony arrives and you are happy with the purchase...she does get positive feedback so not everyone must have a bad experience...and this way you dont risk a strike for not paying

just keep an eye on the paypal filing deadline and after a reasonable amount of postage time if nothing has arrived you should contact her...her answer or lack of answer will influence whether you give it a few more days or whether you file....as long as you file before the deadline you should be fine as this way if you dont get the pony at least you get your money back

Good advice here! At least you are on your guard and wary; that's sooo much nicer than being caught off guard with a transaction that has the potential to go awry. Hopefully everything will go smoothly for you! Let us know!

Like the others said, go ahead and pay, but keep an eye on that Paypal deadline if that pony is late arriving! (regardless of how nice she is in her messages)

All you can do now is go through the transaction and keep an eye on that Paypal window. If the seller stops communicating or doesn't provide you with shipping information within a week of payment, I would open a claim just to be safe.

The pony I was waiting on from this seller arrived today and luckily I have no complaints.

Hopefully everything works out for you too missam
