Since it seems to be popping up on a few different threads who here is interesting in participating in a newbie holiday swap? This doesn't mean non-newbies can't participate, just that this event would be a good beginning for newbies like myself.

What generations are we interested in? Personally I'm a fan of g4 and would prefer that. How do you feel about G1 & G3?

Any theme ideas?

Would everyone be comfortable shipping by Dec 10?

Other problems/thoughts/ideas/advice?

G4s would be great. I can turn those around quickly, so it'd be perfect for the timeline. Plus, they're readily available. You could just go down to your local Walmart for the bait.

Edit: personally I can do G3s too, as I have tons of baits.

i'm personally not a huge fan of g4's i'd prefer g3 or g1, but if everyone else interested in the swap prefers g4s then i would still participate! i mean.. it'd be an awesome learning experience and they are cute..

I have the most G3s I think, I like to have customs made from G1s though. It's hard to spend money and it's cheaper than buying a G4 bait.

We could specify which baits we'd prefer to receive and which we'd prefer to work with, and who ever runs it could try and pair up as best as possible keeping those in mind. For instance, I don't have a lot of spare cash to play with, but have a load of G1s and G3s, but would be fine receiving from any generation.

I saw a post someone did for another holiday swap, but the "must have done one swap previously" disqualified me since I've never done a swap on here before. And wouldn't be able to in order to sign up in time. Oh well. This one will be lots of fun, too!

I'm a newbie too but I don't do customs per se. I make crochet plushies. Would I be excluded?

I'm sticking to G4-only swaps from now on, I think. So if that's what it ends up being I'll consider joining. But my guess is that making it a multi-gen swap will be the best way for a major swap like a holiday one. That will allow more people to join in on the fun

@kiwi - yes I am think if enough people show interest in multigeneration I would do it and put those who are in the same generation together.

@jwalraven - I'm not sure. I'd like to see other people's opinions on this. Would you be willing to try customizing a pony if need be? I just don't know if anyone else would pop up with a, I guess you would call it "crafts" category?

@Ren-Ren so if this goes multi generation you would still not be interested even if I can group you with another g4 person?

Hmm... If I could definitely be grouped with G4 partners then that would probably be okay I just feel bad about being so picky, heh heh. But even if this ends up being a G4 exclusive swap I'm still not 100% sure I'd be in. I'm gonna be out of town for about a week in Nov and need to decide if I can make a quality pony by the deadline.

Yeah I was thinking G4s might be best as other than getting the heads off they are smaller, and more easily available. And there are essentially only 3 body types to choose from. I was kind of surprised at the number of people that say they have G3 baits.

Depending on how newbie the newbie can be, I would be interested in joining.

@WeepingPiano, I want it to be as newbie friendly as possible, but also open to posters that have been around a while but have not done many customs yet. I don't really want to turn anyone away, so I will have to see what requirements I am comfortable with.

I would be intersted! G4 would be best for me since I have easy acess to them. But Im fine reciveing from any gen.
