Um...wow. I think this is actually the first time I've seen someone try to fake their own death to avoid paying for an item. Some people are just so insane.

I have a book called letters to ebay, and the person would come up with the most ridiculous questions to ask about items, but those were just weird questions about items still going, not crazy excuses as to why someone couldn't pay!

Ebay needs a way to report people like that, if it isn't a joke! For that matter, isn't it fraud to claim to have leukemia or things like that?

Lol, maybe write them a note asking where you can send flowers for the services, play along and see how far they take it...

I would report them to Ebay. It sounds like they are either under age or their mental faculties may just not be sound. I'm sorry to say I doubt you will ever see your money. But at least if you open a case and report them they will get a strike on their account or maybe a suspension that will keep them from doing this to others in the future.

I know if I randomly died no one would ever check my ebay account lol. It's just not the first thing you think of. This is a harmful and outlandish lie and the person should be reported.

That's just disturbing. I'm so sorry that you have to deal with this junk, Lucky!! I don't know what to tell you to do other than report her and let eBay deal with it.

Definitely agree that checking the ebay account would be the last thing a grieving parent would think of right after their child's death. That was the first thing I thought when I read the latest excuse. I just can't imagine a parent even thinking "Gee, I should check everything online and make sure there's no ebay activity I need to take care of!"

I also noticed the "mom" types exactly like the buyer. No capitals and no punctuation apart from the sporadic use of ellipsis. Maybe poor typing skills are hereditary. LoL

I definitely agree with this. Even if there is some truth to the story of who these people are, I find that second response way fishier than the first. That just doesn't look like the response of a parent whose child has just died. I think you'd have far more important things on your mind than canceling an ebay purchase.

Seriously, I agree with both of you. An acquaintance of mine lost her daughter a little over a year ago in a hit and run and I could never in a million years imagine something like this having been one of her first priorities, let alone something that would even cross anyone's mind in such a horrible circumstance. In addition to the overkill of other textbook excuses they gave, there's just no way they're telling the truth.

This person has to either be really young or an incredibly stupid adult to think that anyone would believe their story. Either way, I hope that they get what's coming to them because their behavior is absolutely disgusting.

I would file NPB if I were you. This whole thing is ridiculous and disgusting.

I'd file a npb, claim fees and move on. They aren't going to pay and you're just wasting your time with their silliness.

So-Sophie (kid with cancer) bid on sister Stacey's account by mistake. Then Tracey (the mom) tells you that Stacey (her daughter) was killed in an accident. And the same day (or day after) that Stacey is supposedly killed, a third sister, Jayne is posting on the TP like nothing happened? Plus they've all been using the same account on the TP, which is a no-no. Report them to eBay, and give them a heads up on the TP that they're scamming.

Wow, a big wtf is all I have to say. I just posted at the TP. This is all getting too ridiculous and hard to swallow.

NoDi did bring up the recent girls who were banned for being underage..these messages and this behavior sounds VERY close to them.
