To add to what I wrote earlier, it's not something that is affecting everybody. I've had a very frustrating day calling people to get the holds on my funds lifted and not getting anywhere. Their reason for placing the hold? I'm a below-standards seller. Forget the fact that I have 100% positive feedback, a score over 600, and have never once been late paying my seller fees. Nope, it's because four people marked my shipping as too high in the star ratings, so I now have a rating of 4.8. 4.8/5 is substandard.

I'm done with eBay. That was the last straw. They were already taking a hugely high cut of my profits, but this is it. They have no right to hold my money for almost a month.

At least now I know it's eBay causing the problems and not PayPal.

Sorry if this sounds ranty/angry. I'm so upset right now I don't know if I should yell or cry.

So that's what all the Asian sellers have been talking about for a long time. I've been wondering what it was about. Most of them say on their item descriptions that they need 5 star feedback or they will be kicked out of ebay/are forced to start over. They even send notes with the items which reminds you to leave 5 star feedback. It makes sense now.

This is getting ridiculous! eBay buying out PayPal was the worst thing that ever happened to those two companies. What a bunch of control freaks.

The icing on the cake is them demanding to know where the Care Bear came from. WTF??? How is that any of their business?

well, they aren't any help and froze the account. the only thing i can do is sit and wait and see if they decide to unfreeze it. some people have had their money frozen for 6 months! you can google and read so many horror stories.
i'm very seriously considering being done with them. i need to sell some things off on ebay first, and then be done with that. i have a lot of my collections i'm selling off too but i hope that can be done on the boards. then from then on i guess the only thing i will accept is money orders, which makes everything difficult, but i guess not as difficult as proving where you got a 30 year old toy. i buy a lot from thrift stores, how do you prove that? paypal and ebay just want your money, end of story.

Paypal has started holding my funds from any eBay sales for 21 days. >_< I'll be using ebay as a last resort from now on for selling.

Wow, that's seriously disgusting... Is the holding of funds just through evilBay, or selling in general do we know? Cause that'll kill off pretty much all the small-time sellers on Ebay.

Also, I'm sure you used to be able to deposit funds from PP (eg. recieved from a sale) into your bank account immediately, but not it takes about 3 days? It's just a massive con for PP/eBay to make more money off of your funds imo.

Wow, totally not gonna use ebay to sell! Has anyone had the same issues with Etsy? :S I don't get why they'd make things so difficult...surely they realise they're going to lose so many people? It's not like people will keep a detailed log of exactly where they got an item :S wow.

Well, I just got an email from Paypal and they are investigating one of the payments I received and are holding the funds. And it's not even for an ebay transaction but through my ecrater store. I guess they are curious about it because the order was made on Oct 23 but I didn't get a payment for it until yesterday. I had actually forgotten about it and out of the blue there's the payment. Of course, they send this email and tell you not to ship the item until the investigation is done but I had already shipped the pony. It's for a small amount so it's no big deal but still, kinda annoying.

I recently sold a Vintage Louis Vuitton and had a NIGHTMARE with Paypal/Ebay over it asking questions such as how I acquired said item. It was an absolute nightmare! They held my funds for a good month. And it wasn't just like $10.00 it was a hefty amount of money. I got email after email asking for identification of the item, proof of purchase, and emails saying they are investigating. UGH.

I went through this this a year ago with them, I have 100% positive feedback but because these STUPID stars, my shipping time is below par so i get these pop ups all the time saying I am below seller standards and they will hold funds if I dont improve, I wasnt aware that a persons perception of slow shipping could hold funds, thanks US Postal Service lol. Ebay and Paypal have gotten so horrible the last few years.
