Hey everyone,
Alright... so a few months ago I made a big sale of about $200 worth of ponies on here. The person I sold to lives overseas. There were a few problems from the get-go.
First, she was having trouble with paying me by paypal. Claimed she sent the payment but I didn't receive it when she claimed she sent it. Then she was upset and said paypal was holding her funds because she had recently moved. Eventually, the money DID come through so I was glad for that.
I sent the ponies out without tracking because she did not request it. Weeks passed and when she didn't get it she PM'ed me asking for tracking numbers. All I had was the numbers from my customs form copy, so I forwarded those along to her. I noticed in her feedback there were issues before with people who had sent packages and had packages returned so I was a little worried.
Then, she messaged me and told me that her sister had claimed a package from my state and zip code and wondered if that was the one from me. I was super relieved as I am from a small town in South Dakota... there is very little chance she would be receiving any other package from here. I responded to her displaying my relief and asking her if she was pleased with the ponies... to which she responded that she would not have them in hand for several months because she was away from home.
Now, here's where it gets super frustrating! I deleted ALL of my PM's from her and to her because she told me her sister had the package, right? Not only that but JUST yesterday (OMG my timing) I finally threw away my copy of the customs form. Today I wake up to a PM from her stating AGAIN that she has not received the ponies and asking me if I have gotten the package back!!! UGH!! So now I have no proof in PM's that she even said she received it and I have no proof with the customs form copy because that is gone.
I was hoping garbage here at work hadn't been picked up yet but it had. I called here at work asking if garbage had been picked up and told a co-worker about my dilemma. To my embarrassment, when I arrived this morning there were people digging through the garbage bins outside searching for my copy. I feel VERY embarrassed AND unlucky because it was not located.
I just don't know what to do now. I PM'ed her back stating I am upset because she already told me her sister had claimed the package. Now I have no proof at all. What can I do??
Thanks for sitting through all of that. I'm just so upset.
~Micayla

Thanks, zora! The part that upsets me is that she already claimed her sister got the package for her... now she is saying she didn't get it? :/

It's worrisome that she claimed she got it via her sister.
I don't like the sound of this at all.
How much time has past since she bought the item?

Hey, RPB... she paid for the ponies way back on September 21st. Am I safe from a possible dispute on paypal?

It's been 61 days since payment was made and PayPal gives 45, so you should be safe=)
Yipes! What a messed up situation. Have you tried gently reminding her that she said she had already received the ponies and that her sister has them?

Eskara - Phew!! I have never had anything like this happen before and so I never made myself aware of the dispute window. I am so glad to hear I should be in the clear. I did message her this morning but was so upset I decided to post here. I have not heard back from her yet. I just think it's odd she'd tell me two different things and I wasn't sure what my options were since I have no proof anymore that I sent them.

You are fine! The dispute window is gone (as it should be). Remind her she said her sister had it. How could she have the zip code and everything if it wasn't your package? I want to hear what kind of story she could possibly give you.
Have you messaged her back yet? When you do ask about her sister. I wouldn't offer any kind of refund and I would definitely block her from my ebay account. That whole thing is very fishy.

To me it sounds like a case of she forgetting that she got your ponies.
OR
They knew the parcel was at the customs or post office or whatever and she thought her sister was picking it up. Her sister never did and so she never got your package.
Either way not your fault.

Wow! How strange. O.o I'm glad you're past the claim window though... *sigh* Overseas sales/trades can sometimes get so sticky. I traded a few things to Sweden and it took quite a bit of time for them to arrive.
Anyway, best of luck with it all.

I am glad to hear that I am safe from a dispute. That was one of my biggest concerns... would suck to be out all of that money AND the ponies. I am also concerned if those ponies really got lost. They were beautiful ponies that I cherished and I know she was looking forward to getting them too. *sigh*
Thank you all for helping to calm my nerves. I feel a lot better now.
