I have been knitting for 3 years. How long have you knitted for? (If you knit, that is.) I'm making a scarf for work.

I used to crochet but I've never learned to knit.

I crochet. Badly. My squares are trapezoids. LoL! I had to learn to do it left handed on my own with a book. XDD I suppose one day I'll find some videos to help me learn properly.

Yup...love to knit...and have been doing so for 25 years!! Lol...ours was quite an old fashioned house...my mum had me knitting by the time I was 5...

We also were taught knitting at primary school [about age 9] - I was such a "teachers pet" in that home economics class - everyone was just learning to knit and I managed to knit myself a whole little cuddly octopus in those lessons! He was called Olly and he still lives with my mum!

At this time of year its great to be able to knock yourself up a hat or scarf or gloves that match different occasions! I found the most amazing wool a few years ago for this time of year its a fluffy silk wool [I cant remember the name of the brand....I ll find it and post later] it makes the most AMAZING scarfs and they are really elegant as well as super warm!

i got a lovely book on making knitted flowers for my birthday, but it is a long time since i knitted so i have not plucked up the courage to try any yet.

I crochet. I taught myself how to knit, but never got very good at it. I kept stabbing myself in the hand with the needles. Obviously I was doing something wrong,lol.

I've been knitting for about six years now, although it tends to be very on and off as it can get too hot to knit things in summer over here. I've knitted a few items though like a beanie, scarf and gloves, as well as a jacket for myself. The first major piece of knitting that I did (other than the mandatory learning-to-knit scarf) was this dinosaur jacket for my son:





I think it turned out rather well, and it was a really great learning experience too. I'm currently working on a gorgeous capelet for my sister who is moving to London at the end of the year. I really have to get my but in gear as there's only a month to go!

I learned to knit and crochet two years ago using the Stitch 'n Bitch books. I love it! I'm currently working on knitting a baby blanket and crocheting dishcloths. I knitted my son a stocking this year too and I have made 4 attempts at one for me but keep getting stuck 4 rows in! Hopefully it'll be ready for Christmas 2012!

nope but i do love embroidery if i have a crwel kit i have a huge one that is two feet by three feet that is a basket of flowers i have the directions for it but i do not have yarn ! on top of that the embroider kit has about 45 different colors ! recently i have learned how to to do the herring bone and van dyke stitch both are very hard.

My 9 year old wants to learn how to knit. I want to learn to sew.

I knit and crochet. I've been crocheting for 10 years, my mom taught me over the telephone. I had a general idea of what to do anyway, but that's still pretty crazy lol!! I've only knitted a couple scarves since about 4 years ago. A coworker taught me on a trip once. Right now I'm working on a huuuge Harry Potter Ravenclaw one, lol. It's almost done!
