(Dr.) Dre reporting in! My name's Mara :3 Super stoked to be here, you guys seem like a fantastic group of people. Juuuuust relocated to Plano, TX a month ago. I didn't expect to like it, but I'm enjoying it here! Formerly lived in the NE Atlanta metro area for a span totalling just under 13 years. I'll be 21 in February, so I guess I was in GA for 2/3 of my life. The very sudden and unexpected relocation threw a cog in my plans, but it'll all work out as long as I'm patient. I've sent in job applications to exactly 9234829582935 places within reasonable distance of public transit, and I'll edumacate myself with fancy internet jargon until college next fall. Not sure exactly what sort of career I'd like--I'm still recovering from the despair of learning I couldn't be an astronaut when I was ten...ish.
My pony collecting hobby is in its infancy. I've been collecting for uh... Don't laugh! ...About a month. *le sob* Well, that is to say, actively collecting. My cool older girl neighbor gave me a huge box full of ponies when I was about five years old, and let me tell you, I LOVED those ponies. Most of them got lost in the move to Atlanta, but I managed to hold on to a couple of them, fortunately! So, technically, I might have been collecting for... 16 years? Sheesh 8D
Mega props for my BFF for getting me back into ponies. We've been, like, soul brothers for a decade. She's loved ponies for as long as I can remember--she even cleaned up my old ponies for me way back in middle school! <3 She introduced me to FiM, which got me into pony-mode, and then she got Tropical Sea Breeze for me as a surprise. I opened up the package and I was like, "........................................YES." THANK YOU BABYGURL! <3
My collection is rather meager at the moment, but I'm working on it! G1 is my JAM, yo. I think G3 ponies are flaw-free, but I still prefer my G1s--straight from the old school. G2 isn't my thing, and I don't really dig G4, but I do have a cute Rainbow Dash (noregrets.gif). I totally avoid BBEs ;_; Seriously, I don't scare easily, but they terrify me. I promise I'm not throwing any shade! Just ksjdhgauigauwrih *dies* My old ponies include NSS Surprise, Firefly (who has disappeared somehow), two baby Fireflies, and baby Lickety Split. I had a TON more that I'm finally starting to identify through virtue of immersing myself in ponies ponies ponies. BFF extraordinaire gave me my darling Tropical Sea Breeze, and since then, I've acquired myself a Galaxy (adventures in regrind!) and a Port-O-Bella (adventures in mystery spots!).

Welcome! I'm not a fan of G2 or G4 either. G3s are my favorite, but I would loooove to have some of my childhood G1s again!
I'm glad you are liking TX. I lived there for far too long. Hated it, but mostly cause I was in the middle of nowhere. I am missing the warmer weather right about now though!

Thanks guys! C:
There are so many adorable G3s and the more I see them, the more I want them @ A @ <3333 Plano's pretty nice! I enjoy that I can walk and/or take the bus to pretty much anywhere I want to go. I got a glimpse of middle-of-nowhere TX when my mom and I drove here, and it completely reminds me of the parts of GA that I hated--i.e. hunting country. Do not want.
God I bet it's FREEZING up there right now, it's decently chilly here. You know, I've noticed that it's REALLY windy here, and I didn't expect that at all. I mean, there was wind in GA and all but nothing that made the house sound like it was going to flip over.

Yeah, the wind really sucks. It seems to ALWAYS be windy and I hated it so much cause I could never sit outside and do anything without all my stuff blowing away. Forget picnics!

Super thanks for the warm welcome, guys!
@kiwimlp: That sounds nice @ A @ <333 I don't mind it being a little chilly, but that combined with wind makes me want to stay inside under a blankie forever, fffffffffff *shiver*
@kittybethy: omg, sweet! I feel like I've been seeing a lot of Texas ponies around here, which is totally fantastic. Makes me feel just a bit more acquainted with the area
@mlpfan: Hehe, thanks! <3
@stopxmotion: asdgashjg I actually left some ferret bedding outside to dry overnight when I first got here without thinking to check the weather and it blew allllllll over the backyard 8D Lesson learned!

My parents are from NY! My dad's from LI--all his family still lives there--and my mom hails from Brooklyn. Represent.
Oh maaaaan, I think right now my absolute holy grail pony is Night Glider. Anything to do with space is totally **my JAM**, so I've been itching to collect ponies with any sort of star/planet/etc themes. It would be cool to nab a Galaxy that's in a decent condition, mine's rocking some mega heavy regrind and a stubborn blue highlighter mark near her symbol on her display side.
Your signature is FANTASTIC btw, my brain is hearing a crazy water-filtered turkey gobble sound-effect.
