Which programs are best to use for making adoptibles or just art in general?
I am sooo not into computerprograms what-so-ever and i would like to put art online. I also would like to MAKE art with some kind of PC program. I've read the tutorial in this section but i guess i'm not quite there yet. I just need some help.

I really want to join this but i can't seem to figure out how. Can some of you tell me about how you started with making adoptables or regular art on your PC? I don't know if this is the place to post it but thought it would fit the best here.

I've always used Paint Shop Pro. I think I started with version 6 and moved up to version 8. I realize that even this is outdated now, but I'm content.

I use Adobe Photoshop, it's got a lot of tools which can be hard to wrap your head around but there are heaps of tutorials out there to teach you how to do specific things.

I use PSP 8. Like SDS has mentioned, it is outdated, but it does the job perfectly for me (where pixels are concerned)

What does MS paint mean?

It is the paint program that comes with Windows.

I just downloaded GIMP. It's free and it has done good for me so far.

I also used to use SumoPaint which is a free online digital art program. It's not the best for adoptables but it is wonderful for regular art and also needs no download.

TwistedBrush Open Studio is another free download I found once. It has some really nice brushes and effects in it.

DeviantArt has a paint program on their site where you can draw and then upload it straight to your DA page

I use Paint Tool SAI and Photoshop. Everyone is different based on the look they're going for and what's easier to get a hold of.

I also use SAI. It's my favourite and I've used Paintshop Pro, Photoshop and Gimp.

i guess, if you start, anyprogramm with layer should help. i would suggest paint tool sai or photoshop elements! they are easy and if you need tutorials about working with layers, i can give you some. ^^
