... what has been the best part of your year? Pony related or maybe not? Did you have a baby? Did you get married? Did you pass your GCSE's with flying colours? Did you see a friend you didn't think you'd see for ages?
I'd really love to hear one thing from as many people as possible to make everyone's day a bit better, I know almost everyone has something they have either written or wish to write on 'what's your problem' but before you do, i'd like to try and make your day just that little bit more special, because after all it's christmas!
My choice is a tough decision between being hugged by the love of my life or passing my GCSE's with 6A's, an A* and 2 B's , and I think both were equally incredible and unexpected!
Have a wonderful snowy christmas, keep your stories coming
I love this thread! I ma going to move it over to OT for you though OL1

Good question hun! Honestly, this was a very difficult year for my family. The best part of the year stemmed from the WORST part of the year. Back in April, we found out that my youngest cousin (she's 20), has leukemia. She spent 3 solid months in the adult leukemia floor of Mass General in Boston. After many rounds of chemo and a bone marrow transplant from a life-saving donor, we found out she is in remission. She still has a long road ahead of her, but the sheer fact that she beat the odds (survival rate is less than 20%) and has come through is incredible. She is a miracle and the doctors and nurses at Mass General are miracle workers! I do not have the words to express my gratitude and love for her bone marrow donor. Her donor had to endure daily shots to boost her cell count as well as a difficult marrow harvest. Whoever you are, may God bless you and keep you always. I would strongly urge anyone thinking about being a donor to join the registry! Donors are always needed, especially minorities (they have a MUCH harder time finding matches)!! Even donating blood can make a significant impact. I don't mean to be preachy, but any chance I get to spread the word, I take.

I got married in April, so that was definitely #1 for me this year!
I also found a new job that is making a huge difference in my happiness and well being. My last job paid better but it was making me miserable and wasn't worth it.

Your baby and I share a birthday!!
It's been a hard year for me and my family too. I'll have to think about this.
Edit: Oh, I became a Mod this year! That was a happy thing that happened!

Among the good and the bad, I think the best thing that happened was, after I went searching for My Purpose after college, realizing that I didn't necessarily have one--at least not yet. That's some pressure off!

Congrats on the hug and your GCSE scores!
The best part of my year? Getting to move back home. I missed being near my family. That and celebrating my son's first birthday in May, and getting to visit my bestie in California.

Best part of the year was watching the videos my best friend posted of her life in Sendai and how she helped clean up after the tsunami. And knowing that she was safe and unharmed.
Also, quitting smoking and drinking alcohol completely.

Nothing really. I guess I actually made some friends this year, but I'm still pretty lonely! I also discovered ponies =P

Honestly, I've had a very crappy year.
But if there was anything that was good, then I'm going to say that I totally gave up drinking soda. Been soda-free since June, as part of my effort to lose weight. Didn't even suffer from cravings or anything.

I survived kidney cancer, and I am happy to be still a resident of this planet. I am now a member of the charlie the unicorn club, "They took my freaking kidney!"
