I went to a thrift store and found heaps and heaps of old classic beanie babies, many in extremely good shape with their original TY tag. It seems someone was dropping off their whole collection. Are these valuable collectibles? I used to collect them as a child, and I still have all my original ones, but I didn't bother with them in the thrift store since there were way too many (if they had been ponies... that would have been much different!). I still love them as a childhood thing, and if I had seen any that I wanted when I was a child, but never got, then I would have gone for it (like the classic dragon ones).
So, just wondering if I missed out on some awesome collectible stuff or not. Your opinions, thoughts?

They are all over the thrifts and flea markets here too. I think they are everywhere. Doubt they are worth anything at all unfortunately, unless you have something that is REALLY old or rare, like from the first few waves of them.
My parents used to have a Caw the crow, which was worth at least $600 at one point. I see it on ebay now for $40-$150. So, depending on what you have, they might be worth a small bit.
Oh, I don't think you really missed out on much, but they were kind of a fun thing to collect as a kid, I guess. Meh. I still have some, but could have lived without, in retrospect. I think mostly my whole family overdid it, and between all of us we still have far too many.

Sounds like a fun find but likely not that valuable.

I think some of them are super cute, but they don't seem to be worth that much, some are probably a bit valuable, but unless you know which ones are I would suggest unless you are purchasing for yourself, to not buy to re - sell.
I picked up a couple of new ones just recently because they were so darn cute, a white unicorn with purple hair & sparkly purple hooves, and a little fat green cartoonish crocodile, can't remember either of their names, but they are adorable I also have a little chiwawa that guards my (ute? Pick up truck? car? depending on where you live) he has a fluffy pink collar & is terrifying XD
This is what they look like -

I used to work in a beanie baby store.
I was around them a long time. I like them, but don't collect anymore!

Eh. I only pick up ones I really, really like. x3 I used to love them as a child, though, but they were way too expensive to go really crazy with. I'm really glad for that now. But I still have a small plastic tub full of ones I love too much to give away.

I cannot believe how common they are now. I see them at flea markets all time too.
I remember one valuable one being Humphrey the camel....I wanna check up on him. He was one of the rarest of the rares when they were new. Some of them were selling for a fortune. I can't believe how much value they have lost.

I picked up the unicorn & croc at the supermarket for like $3 each new they really aren't worth that much new, so I can't see how they would be worth much second hand. I know with rarity some will be worth a bit, but generally as most have stated, thats older ones.
Its like beanie kids here in Australia (they're mainly little bears dressed as random animals & things) some are defnately worth a bit, I often see heaps second hand and they're asking like $5+ for them, they were about $10 new, and most aren't worth much due to so many being produced. They are adorable though. I brought a good friend of mine one dressed as a german shepheard dog, he just lost his baby girl to cancer about 12 months ago, and absolutely loved it. It apparently sits on his coffee table now

They are pretty worthless unless you have the first ones ever made. But people will not even pay near as much as they used to even for those.

Run from the money pit! They're worthless. Basically anything that's hyped up as a hot collectable from the get go becomes worthless because you'll have hoards of middle aged ladies buying them all to resell later.

Some people are upcycling them on Etsy by attaching beadwork to them. It's kind of cute.
