Yes, this is also a factor - stores dictate manufacturers. Especially when items go on sale, it will usually be a case of 'we are putting this on sale, sell it to us a little cheaper'. It's like with Breast Cancer G3 pony, she never made it to shelves because retailers rejected her.

That's really sad, you would think they would jump at the chance to sell a breast cancer pony.

Hasbro is a business and these are bad times. They need to be sure they get to earn money. No money, no toys, no show. Simple.
Personaly i'm getting sick of the hasbro bashing. Yeah, we got a bunch of pink ponies but is that really worse than all the skinny, cookie-cutter dolls we have these days? There are plenty of ponies in different colors.
Not to mention, like others have stated, she is also pink because of the toystores. Also, do people really think that there is no point of truth to it? If toystores want things to be pink because they sell better..than they probably do sell better. Again these people will probably know more about it than a bunch of toy collectors. It irks me that people think they know more about these things than the people who's profession it is to sell a lot of toys.

I think we all need to remember that this post is about SoSilver's fantastic day at Hasbro Italy! Hasbro approached him and asked to borrow his incredible collection of ponies, and they rewarded him with a tour of their facility. They also trusted him with some brand secrets, name ONE other company who would give a fan some insider secrets?! And you know what...kudos to you SoSilver for being so trustworthy and not telling us what you know! That must be really, really hard for you to keep such an awesome secret. I know I couldn't be so trustworthy when it comes to ponies. You exemplify the best attributes of our pony community by being generous, honest and loyal. Congrats again SoSilver:)
