I recently got a jointed, flat foot Barbie at the thrift store in a bag with a Liv doll I needed, similar to the Matchmaker Magic Mulan doll. The head has red hair with bangs, aqua round earrings, closed mouth and green eyes and says "1985 MATTEL INC" on it. The body says "1993 MATTEL INC MALAYSIA" and kinds looks like she has an orangey color to it. I am just curious to know which doll it is.

Other than the new Disney store ones, I don't know of any jointed Ariels.
Without having seen her, I'd guess she's 1995 Hot Skatin' Midge.

It must be Hot Skatin Midge since the face and hair seem right despite the hair being stiff and nasty.

Yeah...those had a bit of hair spray to keep their style. If you're feeling quite brave I'd wash it and comb it out. (Fabric softener or human hair conditioner work wonders if it's tangled.)

Skin tones varied from doll to doll as they do now (tough not to our modern extent). Midge always has sort of a tanned complexion and freckles.

Alternatively, that doll is over ten years old. Plastics yellow with age. Also, she might have been left out in the sun. I doubt it's anything to worry about.
