I want to lose atleast 5-10 kgs before the 30th January. Its really hot at the moment, and I want to buy a nice bikini. At the moment, my BMI is 22 and I'd like it to be a bit less for Summer.

In my experience, there is no quick way to lose weight.

Not an expert, but... eat less, but eat more proteins, drink a lot=water. Excercise, running is the best(if you are able to run) and cheapest form of this as long as you don`t go overboard right away.
You are not overweigh and I get that you wan`t to be more fit in those bikini`s fast, but there really is no fast way if you want the results to not go away fast.

Oh, and for me cold, I mean really cold showers have been useful, making your surface-blood-circulation faster= makes skin more smooth&better colour Wink

Edit: you can lose like 1-2.5kg per week if you maintain a diet and excercise, but it depends on your weight and other things. And I can tell you by experience that stopping eating(or eating way too little) all together is not they way, it just starts gathering fat on the stomach/tigh area Scared

I've actually heard that if you loose more than 2lbs a week or so (sorry that I don't know the conversions) you can actually end up having your body turn on you and you gain weight.

The easiest way you can start off right now is trying to eat healthy and exercising more. It doesn't have to be things that you go to the gym for. You could look up online easy exercises you can do in your home. Also replace any sugary or unhealthy drinks you have with water.

Of course I am not an expert, but I am trying to recall on a few things my health junky gym teacher taught me.

Well first off, while I understand your desire to "get thin quick", that's not really the right way to go about weight loss. To lose weight and maintain it for any length of time afterward is gonna take dedication beyond getting that bikini.

First look at your diet. Are there snacks you can cut out? Soda? Get rid of them almost entirely, and keep them as treats for special occasions. Secondly you need to exercise if you already don't. If you really want to lose weight fast, you'll need to exercise very often, probably about an hour every night or more, and the exercise needs to be power walking or jogging.

Keep in mind your ultimate goal should be to be healthy, not skinny.

Slow and steady wins the race, and is better for your health. About 2 lbs a week is the most one ought to safely lose a week.

You do not want to cut out too many calories or your body goes into starvation mode, it holds onto as much as it can, your metabolism slows down. All of which mean you don't lose weight that well.

Healthy food, potion control, regular exercise! If you lose weight too quickly it won't even show that much anyway, your body won't have time to "catch up". Most people can lose 1 - 2 lbs a week healthily. The heavier you are, the faster your weight will drop, and vice versa, which is why people have trouble losing those "last few pounds" haha.

Now what you can do is exercise and tone up. A month is a pretty alright amount of time, you might see progress by then! By working on your muscles, you sort of "sculpt" your body into looking slimmer and firmer without having to crash diet to lose a whole lot of weight. That plus normal efforts to eat right and do cardio and stuff (running, jogging, swimming etc anything that moves your whole body) and you will see results as fast as is healthy possible. If you try crash diets or not eating you will regret the results! Dropping weight too fast leaves your skin loose and flabby from not having time to catch up. Plus you lose so much energy and look sick and tired all the time, probably not the look you're going for lol. Your metabolism, to put it creatively, goes into hibernation and it's an important part of steady weight loss so that's no good! And it runs the possibility of developing an eating disorder.

This is something I can help with yay!

The best "quickie" tip I can offer is Drink tons of water. Think of you body as a paper towel. I soaks up spills, but one it reaches a point, it cant hold anymore and the stuff pours off it. You body is the same. The more water you drink, the less Water it tries to retain. You can loose 5 pounds (dunno in kilo) of water weight within the first week just by upping your water intakes. The proper amount of water to drink is at least half your body weight in ounces each day.

For food, try eating every 2 hours small snacks. Keep calorie items to your normal mealtimes and eat things like veggie snacks and fruit for inbetween snacks. depending on your weight, you wanna keep calories to 1200 per day or if you are over 170 pounds 1500 per day. Should be able to drop 5-10 pounds in a month on this plan. Maybe more if you are really good Smile

Please do me a favor and do not try to loose weight that fast. I have experiance with what happens when that happens (though I wasnt trying--I just got really sick. Ended up dropping close to 100 pounds in 5 months. It was a VERY scary time because I couldnt get it to stop). Im worse for ware right now and still trying to get on my feet. Its been over 2 years now and im still experiancing problems.

If you feel you must try to loose something, make sure you get enough fiber, drink alot of water, and ballance what you eat and excersise. Make sure you work out every single muscle group. Working out this way for 20 minutes a few days a week is more effective then trying to run on the tredmill for a longer set time every day.

Like what everyone else has said, drink lots of water. I've been drinking nothing but water -- as well as milk and V8 juice -- since June of last year, and while I didn't lose all the weight I hoped to have by New Year's, I did lose some weight -- went from a size 20 to a size 18 in jeans.

Loosing weight quickly is dangerous for your health, non-sustainable and leads to having loose flappy skin folds. The ways to do it are things like lap band surgery or the 'detox' diets that are actually poisoning your kidneys.

I must admit to some confusion here.

In another topic elsewhere on this forum, you say that people tell you that you're too thin. You say there that it annoys you that they'll comment on your looks like that.

And now I see this new topic from you about how you want to lose some more weight.

I appreciate that your body is your own, and you can do whatever you like. But as you're so annoyed by people calling you thin now. don't you think that'll get worse if you lose any more weight?

There is no easy or quick way to losing weight.

in your situation, maybe some exercises that help tone the body would be best?

I think whole foods diet are a good way to lose a few pounds in a healthy way. :3 Basically its eating unprocessed, or very minimal processed foods. It can be VERY hard to adjust to, but it can be really healthy. (^__^;~ I just cut out anything that comes in a box, can , or bag.. and eat as many veggies and fruits as possible)

You should lose weight slowly, and your BMI is fine anyway...I suggest just toning up as opposed to losing weight.

Your health should come first, not what your body looks like in a bikini.
