I would just suggest exercise to tone up..... but just remember that very very few people look good in a bikini, even most supermodels need air-brushing, so don't be too hard on yourself.
I must also say here that I really hate the outfits that female volleyball players are made to wear, surely a singlet & pair of shorts would be fine...

Bikrum yoga! Your BMI is in the normal range so to go lower than that you'll have to train hard. Weight training will help too.
Lots of fresh foods and eat often like every 3 hours.

The best thing that helps me tone up is doing P90X. My husband and I did one complete round of it together last year and it seemed to help a lot (when combined with the eating plan - which isn't so much "diet" as "eat this ratio of foods" - long story short, cut *back* on carbs, but don't cut them out altogether).

We just restarted the plan to tone up and drop some pounds from the holidays and it is difficult but we both saw results. It is not a quick fix, but even after we stopped for a few months, a lot of our results remained.

We do allow ourselves one "bad day" per week where we can eat anything at all. It seems to help us stay on track.

I was genuinely overweight (5'6'', 230 thanks to baby weight) and no matter what I did, how little I ate, how much I ate or how healthfully I ate, or how much I exercised, the weight stayed on. So my doctor put me on a medication called Phentermine and so far I have dropped down to 185, which is five pounds from my pre pregnancy weight. Apparently pregnancy had messed with my metabolism so badly that it needed a medical kick start. =\ The medication option is typically one that your doctor will give you only if you're genuinely over a healthy weight though.

If I'm not mistaken, 22 is a healthy BMI. You probably don't need to lose weight per say, you just might need to tone what muscle you have. Exercise would probably be your best bet. :3 Yoga is very good for toning, and low impact as well. Trying to lose weight or exercise takes discipline though, so if you aren't ready to make the commitment to get into a different set of eating habits and higher activity levels, don't expect any sort of results ^^;

Thank you everyone!

I've been eating small, frequent meals, and doing around 20 sit ups or Irish leg exercises (when you squat and jump up straight quickly) and although my legs and stomach hurt a bit after a few days, my doctor said thats just the muscle growing, and that I'm at a normal weight.

I drink a large beer glass of water every hour; not because I 'have' to, but because I'm suddenly really enjoying it! (even if I do pee alot!)

Fun question for those reading first- Is anyone else here Palio, or LCHF?

First, if you are looking for a temporary fix, be WARY. Others mentioned the same thing, this is why though. It may seem easy now to slim down a little for a dress, or bikini, (I am assuming you are fairly young still) but each time you lose weight you also lose lean body mass. So a % of each pound lost will be fat, water and LBM. (no matter what method you use, Low fat, Low carb etc. Some programs you lose much less lean body mass then others)

Now, you want to keep as MUCH lean body mass as possible. It's essential to health, and helps you burn the foods you eat, gives you energy and strength. If you diet to a goal, then go off and eat "normally" you WILL start gaining those lost pounds back (and the lb's you gain will have more fat % then the lb's you lost). This is how women end up slowly dieting themselves to obesity. Each time they do it, lose a little muscle, gain a little fat. Which makes their metabolisms slower. Some women notice they can diet, but feel "fatter"-That's a bad sign you're losing lean body mass.

Whatever changes you make, do it on a level that they are easy to stick to. Swap pizza for chicken salad, soda for unsweetened iced tea, etc. Once a change becomes habit add more.

I eat a special diet, and plan to until the day I die. No refined sugars and zero grains. Eat a lot of fresh food cooked at home. Fish, meats, eggs, lots of green leafys, loads of other veggies, good quality cheese, tea, and coffee. I eat when hungry, stop when full. I don't curtail the fats in my diet, so am satisfied easily. I found something that's simple, VERY easy for me to stick to. I started this when I was considered "healthy weight" but honestly, I was much too padded for my liking, small frame and way to much bodyfat %. But I've noticed I am so lean now, I've put on muscle and have loads of energy. My boyfriend started the same diet after he met me (he liked me, and knew he'd need a wheat-free kitchen if he wanted me to visit him and be able to eat. haha) and he's noticing -many- of the same positive benefits. But again for us this wasn't a temporary fix. It takes time to not only lose excess fat, but regain that lean body mass. Smile Hope this helps.

The best exercise to lose weight is running, even more than swimming, and it's also very good for the body. Try to run 3 times a week for no less than 30 minutes (3-5 kilometres) and you'll see how you look much better. I experienced this myself, and since I'm doing it I'm much happier with my body and don't have the stress I had before (I'm quite a nervous person BTW!)

Running is free and you don't have to maintain a hard diet Energetic Avoid fast food, Coke and chocolat/fats (they are not banned!) and that's all!

Before you eat tuna, please consider the fact that tuna is one of the most over-fished species in the world and some populations have dropped over 90% over the past 50 years! They're really endangered Smile You can read about this even on the wikipedia page of tuna (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuna , which has plenty of links to other sites and pages). What's more, a lot of whales, sharks and dolphins get accidentally caught and killed during tuna fishing.

Good luck with your quest to lose weight! I agree with what most of the others have said, try to exercise regularly and make sure to spread out your eating throughout the day so you won't get hungry which might result in snacking Smile

…Considering you don't exactly sound so weighty as to need a serious diet, for the moment I'd suggest going out and finding a bathing suit that suits you now, rather than trying to make yourself suit this imaginary bikini… Is there a serious law saying you need a bikini for this?

Besides, if the weather really is as hot as you say it is, then just a little bit of exercise outside and a little more water each day might do you well enough.

Please reconsider eating tuna Smile Tuna is one of the most endangered fish species due to commercial fishing; some populations have shrunk over 90% the past 50 years and if we're not careful they will go extinct entirely Smile

Good luck with the losing weight and staying in shape! I agree with the rest, regular exercise is just as important as eating healthy! Make sure to eat spread throughout the day so you won't go hungry which might lead to snacking and eat lots of fruits and vegetables Smile
