So how about a thread where you share... interesting (or funny) experiences in buying ponies? ^^
I'll give you mine. So today I went to an antique mall with my mother. I'm pony-crazy, so after lots of searching I found some ponies.
One didn't have a price tag on it, so we told the cashier when we went to pay, and here's what happened:
Cashier: Hey, (some other worker's name)?
Worker: What?
Cashier: How much would this be?
Worker: What is it?
Cashier: Little pony.
Worker: $2.
Cashier: Sounds good.
They just made up a price on the spot, lol! |
They do that for me allll the time at thrift stores, and its usually like .10
Out of curiosity, which antique mall was it? I live near St.Louis as well ^^

Everytime I walk into Goodwill or the local charity shop, I hear, "Hi, Pony Lady!" or "It's the pony lady!" |
I swear that's gonna start happening to me too! Already one guy at Goodwill came up to me and was like "wow every time I'm here I see you, you must be here a lot" which was an unwelcome reality check for me xD The first time I ever went there though, I found a bunch of G3's and often times people will help me and bring them over!

There's an attractive young man that works at the Target I shop at, and every time he sees me in the store, I suppose he makes some excuse to walk by the toy aisle because he's always sure I'm looking for ponies. (Maybe because of the novelty of a grown woman being pony obsessed?)
A month and a half ago I was looking for FS Twilight Sparkle for my son (he's TS obsessed) and I vocally complained to thin air when I couldn't find one. Well, on about my fourth time looking, he walked around the aisle, moved some Lalaloopsy boxes placed next to the ponies, and lo and behold, Twilight Sparkle! I gave him a massive high five in the aisle.

The one in South County, it's really big. xD
Not sure exactly where in South County, wasn't paying attention... zoning out to music, lol. But it's in South County.

Rhini and OctoberFlash - I don't know if you guys have ever been to the one in Fairview Heights, IL or not... Every once in a GREEEEEAT while I swing in there... I saw a couple OVERLY priced common ponies there last time... but it might be worth a check if you're ever really bored. I've never bought a single thing there LoL

Hi to all the St. Louis area collectors I'm from St. L myself; someday I hope to move back to Columbia, MO.
I had a nice conversation with a cashier at TRU the other day. I told her that I was a collector, and we talked about how awesome it is that ponies have made such a comeback. She says that bronies get a kick out of it when she offers them the brohoof.

I'm known at my local thrift stores as "That Pony Lady" Still think I shocked them at one store a couple of weeks ago. I bought a pony with a foot and an ear chewed off. They where looking at me like I was nuts! She's in my bait box now.

What a cool cashier!!!
Me and some guys, both Bronies when to Target and they both picked up the FiM comforter set, and it's not cheap!
Cashier: awh are you getting that for your sister, or niece?
Brony: nope. (he might have said "eynope")
Cashier: well it takes a real man to wear pink.
All us Bronies: ***grin***look at each other****
Brony: It matches the sheet set I have.
Cashier: *** smiling and thinking... What thu???****

There's these two guys that work at my local Salvation Army. They're in there a lot when I go on my pony hunts. They've taken to calling me "Pony Girl". So, whenever I go in there and they're working, I'm greeted with, "Hey, it's the pony girl!" x3

My older brother was buying some MLPs for his goddaughters, and I tagged along, because I wanted to pick out the ponies.
Cashier: -ringing up ponies-
Me: They're for him. -points to brother-
Cashier: Really now?
Brother: Yes. Yes they are.
Cashier: You picked some pretty awesome ones.
Me: -stifling laughter-
Brother: I just LOVE playing with their hair, it's so nice. -turns to woman behind us in line- I just LOVE My Little Pony, you know!
Cashier: Good man! No shame!
I nearly died from laughter.
