The g1 line was made here in Brazil by Estrela, but now they didn't bought the rights to make them, maybe Candide did it first.

I've contacted Candide already, let's see what they will say, and for that pony, maybe it's without glue on its neck, since the pose is the same on both pics, Estrela made all their ponies with the head loose

Great idea, I hope you hear back from them about this. Maybe they can do some explaining...

That's certainly a possibility I didn't think of. I'm not knowledgable enough to say. Hmm. :\ Loose pony heads. Interesting.

Wow! Good point, thank you for posting that information. I would've bet my life (well, not really) that the pencil case in your picture was genuine Hasbro (I did not see your original post regarding this item).

The other thing that strikes me about the packaging on these auction items is that they do not have any "pony points". Now, I know that the US and Canada are the only countries that participate in the points program, but don't the foreign packages still have the points attached? Correct me if I'm wrong, I thought they did.

Now THAT is just weird, I so would have thought that pencil case was real Hasbro material!

Not all of the new ponies and items have pony points on them. The newly posed Kimono does not come with any pony points whatsoever, so that can't really be used as a good indicator of authenticity.

Nope, the ones made here for the G1 never had pony points, i can't say for the G3 because they are being sold here w/ the US packaging, and some w/ european pack. We don't have portuguese or spanish packages, and they are sold as they come from the US since they are just imported, that's why we didn't get any of the ponies that came w/ a movie

But that thing of the hoof magnet is bothering me too, did those prototypes they where selling on Ebay have them?

I think they are kinda neat. I wouldn't mind having some. I hope they are real and released here.

Why is the pony facing you in both pictures? The answer is very simple, I have bought prototypes like this before, it is not a finished pony, THERE IS NO GLUE ON THE NECK, so the neck can be positioned in any way you want it to be, infact when mine arrived the seller had turned it's head all the way around to fit it in the bag better (creepy) but the person selling that pony probably thought it'd looked nicer if it was facing the camera in both pics.

Has anyone noticed the yellow tween had sunny dazes sun symbol but without the curly lines?

The purple one has Minty's symbol, but the colours are all wrong. Perhaps they are licenced by hasbro but made by some toy company in brazil or where ever they're from, but sent to hong kong to be made, I dunno.

I think they look slightly smaller than real ponies, maybe thay are filled with sweets or they're just novelty gifts for parties or lucky bags or something.

Either way Hasbro would never intentionally make these, why spend so much advertising ponies like Minty in videos and books and then make her look totally inaccurate with a purple body and pink/purple hair. Just doesn't make sense.

The noses on those ponies look a bit odd too.
