You know, has anyone considered donating the extra playsets to charity or giving it away to the children of friends and relatives?
If I get both sets I'm probably going to give the extra set to my niece, minus the extra Anchor's Away or Surf Star pony. Plus I have so many multiples in my collection right now, I could give her more ponies on top of that!
If I had children, this wouldn't be a problem, I'd simply give the extra playset to them to beat up. But I don't so I'm going to find someone else whose little girl would like a free pony playset.

Thatis what I am going to do GoodyGumdrop, I am going to give the playset to a friend that has two little girls, they love ponies too!
I also thought about donating another set to either a nursery or to a charity as well.

I haven't gotten the set yet, so I'm only stuck looking at 1 extra if I get 2 for both exclusives (plus I haven't gotten Strawberry Reef yet yay!). Of course, I've got to find someone to get me into Costco first, and hope that the Amazon one does make it to TRU, or that they put it on enough of a discount to neutralize shipping.
If I do, I'll give the extra one to a friend of my daughter's. I got a CCC at a thrift store that was apparently originally purchased by a collector; it was mint and untouched except the pony and brush were gone. I exchanged the building for ours that was missing a sticker, added a duplicate pony and brush we had, and the little girl was delighted. (No, I didn't represent it as new to her mom- told her what it was).

I can't justify $30 of shipping on top, don't suppose anyone would like to buy a set and sell me Anchors Away for $20?!

Hmm...as annoyed as I am that this pony was released with an expensive playset that I already have, I think I'm going to splurge. Why? Because I know I can sell the extra Honolu-loo for at least $15, and probably the playset by itself for $5-$8. The leftover amount of the cost doesn't seem that unreasonable to pay for a pony I want really badly, especially when you consider how much people pay for special G1 ponies.....and since I've pretty much put G1 collecting on hold for now, I don't feel too terribly bad about splurging on one G3 pony I really want.

Aww, what cute photos! Did you actually get those flippers to stay on their feet?? The set I have is too big, and poor Honolu-loo would always lose them underwater if she ever went snorkeling...hee hee!
