eBay Misfortunes.

I can't believe this, but on a whim I clicked into the potential scammer's watch list by Nice_n_Spicy in this forum, and I just recently completed a transaction with one of these listed scammer sellers (katysfindsfu). Honestly, their eBay feedback wasn't suspicious either, and the thread in the Trader Feedbacks forum is pretty much 50/50.

Right now I'm just kicking myself. The circumstances were that the seller claimed she was having trouble with her PayPal account, and preferred the payment be sent via Money Order to a completely different name and address than what was on PayPal. I hesitated, but saw that the email on PayPal and the email this person was using was the same, so I gave her the benefit of a doubt. Now I'm just waiting on my G1 TE Fizzy, hoping all is well. The 50/50 feedback situation here at the forums gives me a glimmer of hope that I'll get my pony, but there's still some doubt.

Also, I'm having problems with two other sellers on eBay. One said they sent the item without insurance, claiming that it wasn't worthwhile, and that I could have the money refunded or put up towards another auction. I chose the latter, but still have not recieved my pony two weeks later. I've emailed the seller, and they've offered a refund, so I've committed to waiting until Friday, Sept. 30th, for my G1 Twilight before asking for my money back.

The other seller said his girlfriend, to whom the ponies belonged to, had to move out of her parents' house, consequently, without the ponies. A week later after that email, I'm still waiting on another status report on the situation.

Three auctions in a row that have been soured. I think I'll hold off on eBaying for a while, at least until I can put time into researching sellers here at the forums. I'll be sure to post about the last two sellers by eBay ID here in the feedback forum if they truly turn out to be less than stellar.

In the end, I'm down a TE Fizzy, a Twilight, a TE Masquerade, and a Mery-Go-Round Sunnybunch. (¡____¡)

Ebay is getting incredibly difficult w/ sellers lately it seems.

katysfindsfu is a member in the mlp community by the name of Ferferner. If I remember correctly she said she had unpaid bills on another ebay acct and had to use a relative's selling acct in order to continue selling, so that would acct for the different names and addresses you are running into. Also the fact that the feedback looked ok at first.

Your rights on buying something on ebay are that if you are asked to send to someone other than what is listed as the owner of the ebay acct you can refuse to send payment I believe. Also if a seller says they accept paypal but then say they cannot you have a right to ask them to cancel the transaction as they didn't represent the payment methods correctly. I'm a bit concerned as to why someone would have problems accepting money through paypal when they could accept it before. That doesn't sound right.

How did you pay for the other two auctions? If by paypal don't let your filing date slip by. Wish I could offer more in advice Sad

there's a big thread on the TP where ferferner is sorting out all of her problems on ebay and on the trading posts. She has had a lot of troubele shipping things, but she is sorting everything out on the thread (in the trader feedback forum). she is refunding, and shipping ponies etc, i'm sure if you add your name to that thread, things will be sorted. If you are not a member of the TP i could copy your post over to there?

Nice_n_Spicy >> I had no idea I could legally cancel the transaction if something like this happened. I'm hoping that everything will turn out all right. It's good to know that Ferferner is sorting things out, and making things right. I've never been wronged through eBay, and everyone has been so kind, so I hope that Ferferner won't be the first. Thank you for the info though.

Oh, and I just got a reply for that seller with the girlfriend complications. He said he'd be sending the ponies off tomorrow. Hopefully, I'll be getting them soon. My worries were unwarranted, and I guess prompted by the whole Ferferner deal.

I will not be starting a new ebay ID, I have made an arrangement to send some of my ponies to someone else who will list them for me right now.

My intention, is to sell enough through the help of my friend, to pay off all my ebay fees, yes, I have four accounts that have fees owed, when that is done, I will hopefully be in a space where I can resume selling the rest of my extras myself....
