For the holidays I mean.

I'm a preschool teacher-and last year I think I got about 20 gifts from my class, and I swear all of the parents conferred, and decided to get me bath stuff/candles/lotions. I mean, 10 sets of them are plenty. I don't NEED anymore!

ha, I must've lucked out last year because I ended up with a bunch of $30 gift cards to Target and only two bathy things.

Just ask them to contribute something to the classroom in your newsletter, maybe? Since you spend all your money on stuff for your room anyway! One of the kids' moms got us a parachute for Christmas and it was a big hit.

Honestly I would say clothes. It isn't that I don't like getting clothes, just not from peoplw that really don't know what I like to wear or my right size. I would much rather have a gift card and be able to go pick it out myself!

Hmm, stuffed animals and other 'cute' things like that. (Ponies don't count of course!)
Oh, and gift cards to stores that aren't online and are only located where THEY live, what's the point in that?

I'm guilty of buying candles for a teacher>.<. Well I bought a tart burner and tarts for a teacher one year and she liked it said she didn't have one of those yet lol. You know it's just something that smells good and most people think that and bath stuff go good>.<. I know a preschool teacher that has her basement filled with Yankee Candles>.<. What should people really get a teacher? I hope my mom doesn't try and get me clothes and for crying out loud I don't need more stuff unless it's MLP ....I would gladly take money but people over look that>.<

PLEASE dont get me weird cat related things, thats what I would say. I have two cats that I love to death, but for some reason some of my realatives think that if you own cats you want cats on EVERYTHING.

mugs, pijamas, cheap watches, post-its,paper weights, fridge magnets, random cheapie cat knick-knacks/figurines, but the worst is cat clothing - sweaters, sweatshirts, my aunt managed to find me jeans when I was 16 that had cats all over them. it would have been cute for a two year old... but todays eight year olds wouldnt have even touched those things!

the weirdest of all though, was getting a cat sugar and creamer set when I was twelve. I think I still have it, I should sell it on ebay lol.

sometimes I dont know what goes through their minds. I do know with bath stuff, its generally what people buy when they dont know what to get someone as a gift!!!

When I was teaching what annoyed me was getting a million things with apples on them. I'm not really fond of apples and apple-related paraphernalia.

Fortunately, my family has always been into gift lists, so we can be sure what we're buying is useful and much-wanted!

1. NO MORE BARBIES! my family JUST buys me some, it really anoys me, DOES I LOOK LIKE A FOUR YEARS OLD GIRL TO YOU? Honest, It just makes me soooooooooooo MAD!

2. clothes..I'd like to buy my own clothes with my mother but I usually gets some I don't like, mostly jeans that are too big, my grandma had to sew most of my jeans to meet my leg lengths! makes me sooooooooooooooo anoyed! mostly are.... WAY GIRLY! I'm in bwtween of tomboy and girly girl! just makes me want to scream!

3. underwear (auntie, i'm reffering to ya if you read this), my aunt ALWAYS buys me some every, I mean EVERY christmas and my birthday, sooooo embrassing!

I'd like some gift cards where i can actually buy MY OWN clothes! money are also acpected! I'd really like some ponies! and books!

I got a gift card for my daughters teacher last year. I think she enjoyed it. Ditto on getting clothes as gifts. The clothes I get are usually too small.
Or if my Stepmother buys them I usually hate them! I'd rather have some candles!

LOL I agree athrael, sleep wear is a little personal to be giving out to people.

I am also guilty of buying my daughter's teacher some lotions and things from bath and bodyworks.

Don't get me wrong, bath and body works is one of my favorite stores-but when you get 10-15 DIFFERENT sets from there, and then my BIL who never know WHAT to buy me, buy from there or other places similar, it just adds up.

Plus we had teacher appreciation week at school in april and the theme was spa-so everyone bought me ones from there as well!

I love gift cards-movie gift cards, restaurants, visa gift cards, target, etc. I had some really thoughtful gifts-one of the mom's remembered that my favorite restaurant was Atlantic Bread Company and I got a gift card there.

i hate recieving makeup of any kind! i dont realy wear much and it just sits in my drawer till it gets all gross and i have to throw it away

Anything (ponies exampted if you're reading this Cyn)! I swear I have nowhere to put stuff at the moment. I especially dislike getting nicknacks and clothes though. I'm just so picky about stuff. I either love it or hate it and there's just no inbetween with me.
