I have been called silly, stupid, and a loser for collecting 1980 my little ponies because I am 19 years old. How many of you "grown ups" out there also wear such tags? My motto is "I like what I like"

Nobody DARES call me any of those names, m'dear I'm 21 and nobody dares to question what I collect, heheh. Don't let them get to you! Next time someone says something like that to you, smirk, roll your eyes, and walk away. Makes them feel pretty dumb :devil: LOL I'm horrible!!

*hugs* I am sorry that just isn't right. Next time just ask them if they would much rather have you soending the money on drugs or getting into trouble, that will make them thing twice before they say anything to you.

my mom tries on occasion, and i happily point out to her that she collects McDonald toys and barbie dolls.

I've been called a loser before for my ponies, but i ignore them each and every time. If they persist, i love pointing out to them that my collection has not lost value in the 20+ years of its existance, infact its GAINING value. There are a few out there that lost points of value in pony land but they've been holding steady for a while in prices

Well I haven't been called a loser but I have been poked fun at:/. I'm 31 Monday....who cares what people think no skin off my back. I collect with Monkey because it's a fun hobby to share. Next time someone pokes fun at you just smile and say nothing:P......you know your not a loser

I have gotten a whole host of snarky comments when people I know find out that my walls are lined with MLP. Forget them. I have a few co-workers who thinks my ponies are cool, and even buy me some. Those who call people names because of what they like are just a minor form of bigot. I don't like rap music, and I'd rather shoot myself then spend 10 hours at a mall shopping, but do I refer to the people who like those things in derogatory ways?

Poo on those downers - they'll grow old while we'll stay forever young...at least our minds will ^_^

Atleast we collect something fun:)....my sister doesn't appercaite me spending money that she gives me as gifts on toys she would like it if I would spend it on something useful bah! She collects baskets now I find that rather dull....what can you do with those? Can't brush the hair lol or dress them. People collect all different things if your happy with what you collect just ignore others....

Not much since everyone I know collects something, usually toys of some sort. ^_^ I know my mother thinks my collecting them is a bit strange, but she is just happy that I have an interest of some sort. My husband rolls his eyes a bit, but I do the same thing at his Transformers.

Now my mother-in-law... she says my 'playing with them' is stupid. Which is odd, because she has a small my little pony collection of her own. But she insists that she does not 'play' with hers. And I am sure she doesn't. They are all dusty and I know she hasn't even lifted a finger to brush thier hair. Why she wants them I will never know. X_X

Not really--my parents poke fairly good natured fun at me (though my mom has gotten a little frustrated when I spent lots of money on ponies instead of, say, gas). Most of my friends think it's cool, actually. Geez, the people who make fun of it are...not thinking this through very well! People collect all kinds of stuff that's just as weird...weirder, often...and those are "collectables"? O_o It's a collection, for crying out loud, not a mental disease!

Not that the two aren't related. But that isn't the point!

*hugs Baby_Surprise* I'm 22 and I have had problems with people saying stuff....heck some of my ex co-workers tried to get me fired for being on the arena on my breaks>.<.....just ignore them, if you do sooner or later they will notice it doesnt bother you and they will drop it

That's really weird... everyone I've ran in to is really intrigued by my pony collecting. In my creative writing class, my instructor asked if she could create a character based off of me for that aspect because it was interesting. There are a lot of people who tell me that they're glad someone still loves them after all these years. I wish I could share some of my luck...

Don't get me wrong everyone, I DON'T care about what other people think, never have and that is what makes me the person I am today. It is nice to hear that there are more of your guys out there just like me though. PONIES FOREVER!!!!!!

no one has ever bugged me about it anyways. most people just say
