I can crack my jaw at will. It feels good. But with the food, that might not be that normal, but I don't know.

The jaw popping isn't a good thing and its genetic, usually it means that your putting too much pressure on your jaw which the causes it to pop.
Most of the time its genetic, some times it can be caused by shifting of the teeth or in my case my jaw started popping after I got my teeth straitened and I should have told my orthodontist about it BEFORE I got my braces off.
Anyway the jaw popping thing has a specific name, you might want to ask your dentist and you might want to ask what you can do to avoid it/change it ect..
I only know about this because my chemistry teacher mentioned that he could not chew gum or hard foods because of his jaw popping and said it was not a good thing to be doing.

No, it's not normal. I get that too but my jaw actually pops out of joint if I bite into something hard or open my mouth too wide. There is a name for it but I forget.

Yes TMJ, that is the name of it! I was reading this trying to think of what it was called, lol! I would definitely ask your dentist about it.
