I opened one of my Christmas ponies today and she had greasy hair. It was really gross.

My Dibble Dabble had gross hair straight out of the box - it was like greasy and powdery at the same time. I have been meaning to wash it so this post has reminded me - thanks 
It makes you wonder what happens in the factory to make it feel like that :nervous:

My family dollar set was like that. After a bath is goes away.
I give all my ponies a bath and style before they go on the shelf with the rest. 
I don't really want to know what is on them that makes them greasy. *shutters*

I know! Her tail was fine, but her mane was discgusting. She's the onyl G3 I've gotten with manky hair like that.

Yeah, one of my G3's had greasy hair, too. Looked like she just took a bath in Crisco.
A bath helps, though.. I washed her hair twice in 10 minute intervals just to be on the safe side.

I have had several like that... the first one I got that had greasy hair was Rainbow Dash II

My Avon set was like that as well. 
Lenara, It kind of feels like they are oily and then when you put just water on the hair it beads off. It is really very strange.

How weird. I'm not the only one getting the goofy hair... In a way, the oily/greasy feel actually made it so their hair wouldn't friz to the high heavens the second you pulled the pony out of the box, but it was akward the few that I got all greasy to the touch. They all got a nice hair styling anyway, so... I'm guessing they do that in hopes to control frizzies.

They must have asked Amberlocks for a little bit of extra hold when they were at the salon last. They said that they liked the Rick James look!! LOL/ J/K :o)~

On a more serious note..I can't say that I have noticed this prob myself. I usually don't wash the pony hair. I just style them right out of the box.
