I am tired of trying to track down soeone willing to buy the pony for me, then dissapearing, or going to eBay and being gouged. I do not have the SLHs that were at that hardware store, I don't have the winter babies, and I don't have the Fancy Flora and the other one set.
It's just getting to be a hassle. I will buy every pony I can get ahold of locally, but no more worrying about not getting these various exclusives. I think this will make my pony collecting that much more joyful ^_^ PLus, think of all the $$ I'll save on shipping and buying. Whoopie!

it's hard to bounce from store to store looking for that certain pony and not finding her!

for me, the fun is in the chase, but i've had it pretty easy for the most part here in the states. Whatever keeps collecting fun for you is what you should do, and i wish you the best.

Alchemy - I never got a PM back from you about the SLH's that you wanted to get from me, from when we had been communicating back in November. I have since sold that set but I got more and I have one left.... if you want it! Not to spoil your plan of giving up, but just give me a PM and let me know.

I know how frustrating it is not being able to get ponies- I'm in the UK & it seems that so many of the recent releases have been US exclusives But I managed to find most for retail price or a little over on eBay or through trading buddies, even the Winter babies- there's always a fellow pony person willing to help!

That's nice of you, emery! Hopefully you two can work something out and you can get your exclusives.

There was a ton of Fancy Flora and Sunshine Blossom at Tescos..... probably a litle steep for you US pony collectors at £9.99 a set... but I'd get them for any who wanted them, provided that there are some left. I spect it would cost well over £5 MIB to post as well.... but if you want one, you know where I am.

Yeah, but the extra time, cost, and frustration are too much. I don't truly need every pony, I'm a semi-collector, not very serious. Personally I'd rather be watching my Errol Flynn or Dean Martin movies then hunting around online for exclusives

Well it is hard to get exclusives at times and it proves to be a pain the rear for lots. LadyA was kind enough to get my the SLH set but I had no idea there are 4 stores in Ohio one that is 20 minutes from my paretns houseO_O. If I would have realized I could have had her look along with my father in law>.< he goes to Lima and Defiance>.<. Anyway I'm not sure where you located but shipping doesn't have to be that much it deppends if you want them out of box or not. I only charge exact pony cost and shipping:P. I know you say shipping is lots but if deboxed you can get away with several ponyies for under 5 bucks and to Canada you can get letter post if people pack stuff right:P. Anyway sometimes the exclusives sucks you in only pick and choose what you like:P

I think Hasbro does the exclusives to save money (ish). Instead of putting out 50 ponies to all stores, they put out 20 in all of them, 10 in one place, 5 in another, ect. Exclusives are an easy way to put out larger amounts of ponies without having to ship them to every store. Plus, exclusive = rare = money for hasbro, even if it's a dumb product.

I agree with you. It's just not worth it having to repeatedly beg my mom to take me down to a Target 50 miles away "because they might have the winter ponies this time!!" But I will still collect them, because I am forever hunting down ANY pony.
