I was wondering what people think about this. Do you find it disturbing if a boy has a favorite pony? And do you ever come across a boy that collects some ponies?
My little brother Connor is eight and he likes playing with my ponies sometimes. Even though he acts disgusted around them when his friends are here, when his friends are nowhere to be found, he asks me which new ponies I have gotten, asks to play with them, watches me go on pony websites, and just talks about how cute they all are, especially his favorites--Minty, Cloud Climber, and Fluttershy. Once I suggested he collect ponies with me, and he seriously considered it.
Do you think this is normal? Could the concept of My Little Ponies appeal to both males and females? Discuss here.

i think its great that some guys collect ponies and are brave enough to say they do ^^;

Theres loads of male collectors on here!! your poll is pretty narrow, you need a 'no its totally normal for boys to like MLP category.

The stupid media is suggesting the ponies are just for girls, with Good Morning Sunshine saying, "Good morning, MOMMY" and all the butterflies and flowers on their boxes. And because people believe the media, they think it's not right. ><

I agree with crystal snowflake, though as my brother is older than me I don't think he'd want to play ponies

I would definitly say the ponies are 'targeted' at girls, i mean in the same way action men are 'boys toys', barbies are 'girls'. The advertising and media targets these toys at genders, but it doesnt mean that it is ONLY for them.

Unfortunately, an advertising campaign with boys playing ponies is not something they would likely to be using. Not through any sexism or saying 'OMG its wrong for boys to do it' its just, normal i guess...

My brother and I did that too! And then Street Sharks came out and those played with the ponies too.

My brother and I used to play Barbies and G.I. Joes together. GI Joe made a great boyfriend for her. ^^ Anyway, my brother also buys me ponies if he ever has any extra money. AND, I just asked him if he liked ponies so much, why doesn't he collect them? And he said, "OK, I will. And then, when I start to hate them, I'll give all my ponies to you." =D I have the best brother! Though I sorta doubt he'll be a very good collector, as he says G1s are ugly. >.< Maybe I can even convince him to join MLP Arena! O_O

My son is 4 and he loves ponies. He's always playing with ours and even has a few of his own. He always wants to look at ponies in stores and just bought his sister 4 for christmas. Earlier today he was drawing out an idea he had for a custom, lol.

As far as boys/girls toys, to me a toy is a boys toy as long as a boy plays with it. It's the same as girls playing with "boys" toys. My daughter loves Pokemon and dinosaurs. When she first started school she got teased because she's not (and never has been) into barbie. She was afraid to wear her Pokemon shirt to school at first, until all of the boys told her it was cool.

So I think it's perfectly fine for boys to like ponies.

i have a step brother who's 10 and he loves ponies! He walked up to my mom the other day and asked her "What's wrong with me? I'm a boy who likes ponies!" I was so sad! He loves playing ponies with Gizmo and they decided that wishawhirl was a boy not a girl. I have a baby brother Sweet Celebrations that he loves too. i wish I had more boy ponies for him to play with so he wouldn't feel so bad. We all tell him that there's nothing wrong with him liking ponies. I might try to get some for him for his birthday.

I think its cool with boys who collect MLPs!

i really cant vote that... i mean i think its completely ok for a guy to like mlp and all, but i never would want to have a male mlp fan as a boyfriend...
