"Hi!" a little cross fox kit barks, looking up at all the ponies and pony fans which tower above him. He smiles, swishes his tail happily and continues...
I’m Swift Fox and I’ve been a fan of “the Ponies” since they came out in the 80’s. At the time they were originally introduced I was too old to ask for them for birthdays and such, and not old enough to be living on my own to buy them and display them for myself. I did, however, get to sneak a peek every now and again at the original cartoons when they were being run on television.
I’m a 37 year old, married gentleman living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I’m employed as an Architectural Designer for a large Engineering firm based in Pittsburgh. I’m also a volunteer firefighter for my community and enjoy many other hobbies including Amature Astronomy, Writing, Camping, Table-top RPG's and Card Games and keeping in touch with the child within.
I’m a member of the Furry fandom. I've always been a big fan of anthropomorphic media, such as Care Bears and MLP, animation by Disney, Bluthe, etc, literature such as the Narnia and RedWall series, Watership Down, and the many artist's who grace the fandom.
Fox is currently my totem and spirit guide. I personify a fox to honor his presence and to better understand his lessons and how to apply them to myself. Dalmatian is another totem who watches over me while I perform my duties with the fire department.
I also do character mascot work for my fire department. I costume as either Ashes the Dalmatian or Safety the FireFox.
I also have an interest in Age Play of which the ponies are a very strong catalyst and link back to my childhood.
As for my interest in My Little Ponies…
I had been following the new pony line since they were introduced three years ago. I have to admit I was disappointed that Hasbro wasn't reintroducing the old ponies but instead were introducing a completely new line of named ponies. So the link wasn't there for me to jump on board now that I was able.
It wasn't until a few months ago when a friend of mine challenged me to write a fanfic for a cartoon she suspected I’d have no prior knowledge of. She was both right and wrong. I was fairly familiar with the G1 pony line of the 80's, but I was not so for the G3’s. If it wasn't for Ponytopia and the database there I'd have been hard pressed to put forth what I did. I stumbled across MLP Arena after someone on my Live Journal friends list pointed me to this site in response to my posting my fanfics there.
I’ve been collecting G3’s for…um…about 9 months. My first MLP was Bowtie. I liked how she looked and the little write up about her personality appealed to me. Little did I know then that ponies are not happy unless they’re in a herd and in order to reach that “critical mass” other ponies soon followed.
Our, my wife and my, herd currently consists of:
Bowtie (My favorite)
Sea Spray
WaterFire
Sweet September
Toola Roola
Minty
Skywishes
Thistle Whistle
Rainbow Flash
Star Catcher
Rainbow Dash
Cotton Candy
Silver Glow
Thanks for letting me join and please, if you haven’t, take a moment and give my fanfics a read and let me know what you think. MLP is really a very fun genre to write in and I have other ideas brewing.
Edited because the first writing and what I posted was horrible.

It's much better now.
